Situated adjacent a garage this place is easy to miss. More of a take out than a restaurant, even though we did eat in. You order at the counter. The meal was with us very promptly. I had 4 ribs, coleslaw and green beans which came with a roll. Served in a plastic plate with plastic knife and forks. The meal I cannot fault, Very tasty ribs.

Tried Smackin Macks based upon reviews. We were pleasantly surprised! You walk in and go to the counter to order. They bring your order to your table when prepared. The catfish and oysters were great. I was impressed when ordering when the young lady asked how I wanted my oysters fried.....light, medium, or crispy! Wow, majority or restaurants grossly overfry oysters so to be asked, I was impressed....with my answer being light. The oysters were fantastic....very lightly fried, plump, and juicy! The catfish and fries were excellent as well. My only complaint was that the hushpuppies were too dry and packed and needed more flavor. We really enjoyed and will return.

Stopped here on our travels home. Ordered boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, cracklins, chicken tenders, meat pies and Cajun fries. Everything was delicious! Used their remoulade sauce for dipping, it was perfect. Also had hush puppies that were light and crispy. This is a to go place so we sat in our RV and enjoyed our meal. Portions are generous and prices are good. Employees were friendly and helpful, even the other customers were great to talk to. We like finding the places we're the locals go. Worth the trip!

Looking for Cajun food on Sunday nite in Alexandria can be difficult. These wonderful folks were open and wow! The boiled shrimp and crab were wonderful. No fuss, no muss, very reasonably price for the food. Please understand they don't have any place to sit, it's usually a take away place but they hooked us up with forks and plates and we took it back to our hotel and were the envy of the place! Shrimp, crab, corn, and potatoes were seasoned perfectly to make your mouth happy happy! Eat here!

My wife and I stopped for quick lunch on a Friday. There is nothing quick about this place. We waited in line for about 15 minutes to place our order and when we finally placed our order, it wasn't correct. I had the fried fish lunch special, which included a side and drink. I was charged for the side. The person taking orders didn't know it was included. She did refund the difference, eventually. My wife ordered the shrimp poboy. After about a 20 minute wait for our food, my wife's shrimp wasn't cooked all the way, appears that rushed it. However, my fish wasn't bad. It seems we visited on a busy day and they were understaffed. I hope that was the issue. Not sure if I would visit this restaurant again.

I was super eager to enjoy a good cajun meal. however, I was not that pleased with this restaurant. The food was a huge portion for the price but the quality was not great. Our order was prepared wrong twice . The water was so nasty in the area that the drinks tasted awful. I would recommend takeout versus dine in from my own experience .

Basic, down home seafood. Get fish, shrimp, oysters, clams, and/or crawfish fried or grilled with the usual suspects on the side. Nothing fancy here - the bathrooms are outside around the corner, but there is a hand wash station inside. Food was good, service was fine and speedy, prices reasonable. As this is Louisiana, had to have the bread pudding and was not disappointed. Again, this is basic and to the point, don't expect ambiance. Just good food. I believe beer is available as well. The only negative was the limited parking; expect to park on the side street or something.

Read the reviews so thought we would go here while in Alexandria. I liked the restaurant, it was a beautiful place apart from the TV upstairs which i think spoils it a tad. Service was very good and there was a good selection on the menu, including wine. The food though was disappointing. I ordered a steak and jacket potato, the steak arrived but not the potato, i had eaten half my steak by the time it did. The potato was also lukewarm. Expected better, especially as there were only 2 tables to serve at the time.
