Tangata Restaurant, located within the Bowers Museum campus on Main Street in Santa Ana, brings a newly updated dining space with a fresh, Pacific Rim-inspired menu. Bowers Museum, the largest art museum in Orange County, offers exhibitions, lectures, art
The Tangata Restaurant at the Bowers is a convenient place to take a meal when visiting the museum. The chef has done a nice job of assembling a menu of fresh dishes that are representative of meals I have had at other world-class museums. I enjoy sitting outside with a view of the courtyard while enjoying Sunday brunch or having a quick lunch when in the area. If visiting the museum, parking ($6) is validated when dining at Tangata.

New location of the legendary Anaheim landmark specializing in fresh seafood, 28 day aged steaks, select tableside preparations, and a lounge designed to be the new home for Angels, Ducks, and concert fans serving 20 craft beers on tap and several gourmet
As we were escorted to our table we were able to admire fresh fish and beautiful cuts of steak. We were promptly seated and provided menus. Our waiter was informative, and dealt with several trips back and forth till we were ready to choose our food. There were some delays in our ultimate order placement, and from the appetizers to the entrees. This may have been impacted by a very large group seated some time after us. We decided to try both calamari appetizers and all enjoyed the dragon version, more mixed reviews on the standard breaded version. Some found the latter batter a bit heavy. There was a small cup of dip for this, could have been more generous to match the generous amount of calamari. Most of us tried the tasting menu with good success including a large ceviche portion, ceasar salads and good sized fish servings (sea bass, snapper) and a huge bowl of ciopinno. One person opted for steak which was another large portion. The lobster bisque was creamy though a bit of sweetness and unclear lobster input. My chopped salad was also quite generous and nicely dressed. Desserts were the flourless chocolate cake, also sizeable servings and a small creme brulee with fresh berries. Wine list was decent depth, though mostly higher price range. Overall a good, not amazing experience.Napalovers,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Smoqued California BBQ offers traditionally slow-smoked bbq with a California influence. All meats are smoked in house and trimmed, rubbed, seasoned and spiced by hand.
Came here for dinner on Friday night. We were greeted and seated straight away. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Ordered the Burnt ends for starters which was a bit disappointing, the meat was overcooked, also had the 2 meat combo platter of brisket and sausage, the meats on the platter were cooked well, we had mac n cheese as our first side which was delicious and then had bbq beans which was disappointing very watery and not much flavour.

Went in for a large group dinner , and they made a great meal for us. We had a baby succulent piggery carved up for us with a prime rib roast. We also had some great sides truffle mac & cheese and rosemary mashed potatoes. They also had a great beer selection and some awesome mixed drinks. Great place.

We had a concert at the Honda center and this restaurant is directly across the street and was next to our hotel. The food was good - we had a French dip and a burger. I liked the sauces for the sandwich and the sweet potato fries. Besides location, the cocktails and the service were excellent. Even though they were swamped the servers were attentive and professional. The patio was great. We sat at the fire pit after the concert and had the beer pretzel with more cocktails. The pretzel was perfect! Fun spot for both before and after an event.

Had a great dinner at Karl Strauss Brewery which is located across from Angel Stadium. The mac and cheese was the big treat for everyone who had it and burgers are super! When you gave a special server, you want to call him out, so we included Brandon in his photo bomb! I donât mean to leave the beer selections for last because we ended up taking a can back to our RV for the trip home. Delicious, and a lot of different kinds of beer selections were tried and enjoyed, if you know what I mean. This review made our day! We can't wait to share with Brandon. Thanks for being a fan of Karl! Cheers!
