While this is not my favorite Mexican in Thousand Oaks, it is a more traditional Mexican restaurant. Small, decent service and fairly good fare. The location use to have a large variety of tequila's at the bar, but that has changed over the last few months. It is fair priced, prepared well and traditional menu options. Servers are nice yet perfunctory. Nothing fancy about this small dining room, but it is clean and comfortable and serves a nice meal. Free and easy parking.

way off the beaten path, this place is probably utilized by more locals than travelers but I was hungry for mexican food from being on the road for 2 weeks. We had nachos, Fiesta plate, cheese ench., and tacos. not impressed with the tamales or soft taco but the rest was good.

Had a phenomenal lunch with family at Habanero. Not crowded at all. Our server was super friendly and quick. Received fresh chips and salsa with refills upon arrival. We devoured our chile rellenos platter (a measure of any great Mexican restaurant :) with delicious refried beans and rice. Hidalgo salad with candied pecans, apples and tasty dressing was a definite hit. We enjoyed the sangria too. Great dining experience and will definitely return.

Their Burritos are wonderful. We lived up the hill for a year and ate at The Alamo many times and were never disappointed. The decor is nothing to write home about and service is not exceptional. Just go have a meal. You'll love the food and the price is so reasonable. Share the Burritos are big.

3 Amigos Restaurant

Living a few blocks away, we are one of their oldest customers, 12 years now since they opened. Always take out and they open a place near Newbury Park High School a few years back, then most recently in Woodland Hills. So good, that they have destroyed Manny's and Baja Fresh here in town. 3 Amigos Carnitas Burrito, unbelievably great, but all is good. All word of mouth, this place can be busy even with CLU out of session, so we have found it best to call in the take out order. We are coinsures of Mexican Food, this is a full force recommendation.

Past this place many times but finally stopped in. Very good service. Good chips and salsa. Ordered the 3 item combo plate to get a taste of all my favorites. Comes with a great vegetable soup. My cheese enchilada, chicken taco, and chili relano were just average. This combo plate is what you would get anywhere, nothing unique.

Wonderful service as I was able to substitute tongue instead of the usual ham and chicken in one of their salads. Salad had black beans in bottom of bowl and avocados, cheese, and tender tongue on top of lettuce.Choice of ranch or thousand island dressing.First time we have seen fish enchiladas on a menu. It was very moist and tasty.

“Favorite Local Mexican Restaurant”“Patron” is a nice, small, family run Mexican Restaurant, in a strip mall shopping center, in Newbury Park, California, along the 101 Freeway, in Thousand Oaks, California (In the same shopping center as the “In’ N Out Burgers”). The free chips and salsa are good, and are served as soon as you are seated. They make good tasting, freshly hand-made Margaritas, with price reductions during Happy Hour.We have sampled and love their ground beef and chicken tacos – Excellent! Their “Combo’s” are good as well. The large tostadas are very good too, and with different options available, for what is in them. They do a lot of “table-side Guacamole” orders, where they bring a cart to your table, and then custom make your Guacamole, based on your choice of their offered ingredients, to change the spice level to match your desire.Prices are about on par with other Mexican Restaurants and affordable. Parking in the shopping center parking lot can get difficult sometimes, especially later during the evening, due to a crowded sports bar next door.

Came before the speaker series next door and had dinner. It is an upscale fancier Mexican food restaurant with lots of taco selections which were average tasting but not bad. House Margarita was average and a little too sweet but nothing great for $11. Guacamole was tasty as an appetizer. Chips and Salsa are good here. I had chicken tacos and they were good but not great.I would come back but not often.
