We went looking for Dawson’s and found this place instead. While the King and Queen aren’t much for Mexican food, we gave it a try. The food and service were very good. Dinner was topped off with a complimentary desert in honor of the Queen’s birthday (see picture).

We were seated in the inside dining room right away when we arrived, but nobody approached our table for at least 15 minutes, and then it was to bring only water. After another wait, we got chips and salsa and gave our order for one enchiladas camaron and one almond chicken. After about 40 minutes, we got our food. To be fair, it was very good, but by that time we had waited about an hour. On our way out, the hostess apologized for the long wait. El Poquito is a delightful collision between an artisanal taco truck and an old school cantina-where the flavors are intense, the service is familiar, and the fresh-juiced margaritas flow like water. Inspired by the beach side cantinas and taquerías of Ba

Visited while at the Chestnut Hill art fair and stopped by on the off-chance. Managed to get a table outside in the shade. Ordered several different dishes. The crispy Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious. Quite a wait for the tacos and the waitress kept apologising. It was very busy but the wait was over long. Will definitely revisit and hope it’s quicker next time. But would still recommend.

Our most previous visit here was a disappointment this visit was not. The restaurant has been enhanced with wall hangings and improved lighting. One no longer feels like they are in a H.S cafeteria, it is a pleasant environment. Unfortunately there is still a noise issue, although has been somewhat addressed and improved. Not sure if the culprit is the free Margaritas or just poor acoustical design, perhaps both. This visit all found their food to be very good. I still question the extremely small guacamole and chip basket for the price, it just make no sense to be stingy and skip on chips. The service is friendly, knowledgable and orders arrive in a timely manner. Prices are a little on the high side but the quanity and quality of the food has improved significantly, the service is excellent, add in the free Margaritas and all is muy bueno.

Had a business lunch here. Loved the freshly made guacamole and the flatbread type starters. People’s fish tacos looked amazing. I had their vegetarian quesadillas which were generously sized and very delicious (yummy corn tortillas!)Nice decor and good value.
