Walking into Azzurro, you feel that you must have come here in another life because you're greeted with warmth and sincerity offered only to dear friends. Plus, the food did not disappoint!! Whatever you order you can be assured that it will be fresh, tasty, and perfectly prepared. While here for a business lunch, I felt like I wanted to order a bottle of wine and just keep eating all the way through dinner. Definitely a place that is a Must Go!

We have visited this restaurant to celebrate different festivities. It has probably been our best choice since the chef takes particularly good care of each and single course on those special occasions. Members of the staff are very friendly and do their best to welcome you. They offer you good suggestions for drinks and wine pairings. During Summer time, rather sit on the patio and ask for their "Hugo" cocktail. Food is good but definitely not extraordinary. I have to agree with viewers who mention that it is probably one of the best restaurants in Bern (not that the list is very long though...). Dishes are well executed, but somehow you feel they could do better, particularly on their French classics.We can recommend it for families. Our child loves their Schnitzel with pommes frites.

A gem of a restaurant located in a wing of the former US embassy in a quiet corner of Bern. Run by a very welcoming husband-and-wife team who put their names on the restaurant's documentation (i.e. they're independent and not part of some ghastly chain.) Menu changes with availability of seasonal produce. Although the menu is short (a good sign) there's a pleasing choice of sophisticated fish, meat and vegetarian dishes allowing you to build a dinner of up to 6 courses. We were 4 and a bottle of champagne (Bollinger) apéritif followed by a three-course dinner with a bottle of excellent red wine from eastern Switzerland (think global, drink local) came to just under CHF 500. That's not bad by present-day Swiss standards. Genuine, unpretentious but excellent cuisine served by a young, enthusiastic and multilingual team. In summer you can dine in the garden. We've been twice and will definitely go back.

We decided to eat our dinner in Bern as our train route back from the Lauterbrunnen Valley took us this way to return to our hotel in Zurich. To be honest I was not absolutely sure of the choice when we made it but my reservations were completely unfounded. The restaurant in beautifully and tastefully decorated, the ambiance is charming and the service and food outstanding. My wife and both opted for what appears to be a dish they are well know for and that is wiener schnitzel - the portion size was humongous and well worth the price. Eating it and the french fries that we opted to have with it took every bit of will power we had. I still had room for dessert (I always have room) and opted for the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream that was served on a gray stone slate and garnished with raspberries and a raspberry coulee - it was heavenly! If our travels ever take us through Bern again we will definitely be stopping for dinner at Buner again.

We ate here a few weeks ago and had a wonderful meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the street entertainment (music) while eating. The owner helped us with the German menu which was really helpful to us. The fillet was cooked exactly right and so was the lamb. We had a chocolate dessert that was to die for. The wine list was extensive and we settled on a very nice Bordeaux. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Was pleasantly surprised by the value for money of this restaurant. Two of us ate here for under CHF 60 which is unusal for Switzerland! I had a vegetarian pizza which was very tasty and the base was thin and crispy and not soggy. Additionally, they were very accomodating with my dietary requirements. My husband had a pleasant surprise when he found 4 Indian set menus to choose from as well as the Italian options. So he went for the chicken curry menu which came with rice, raita, poppadum, pickle and some lentils, and he ordered a naan on the side too. We had two bottles of sparkling water as well. The Indian food was a little bland but that's not surprising when comparing to other Indian restaurants in the locality (the spice seems to be toned down for the local palate). The restaurant was clean and my husband went to wash his hands after eating and said the men's toilets were very clean too. The only slight criticism was that service was very slow as they had just one waiter for the first part of the evening (he was joined later by another) but more walk-ins than they would usually expect. It didn't bother us because we weren't in a hurry, but if you were, it may have been slightly annoying. However, we would definitely still go back there again. A nice little neighbourhood restaurant.

Ein wunderbares italienisches Menu mit einem Lächeln serviert: Wir genossen das Abendessen im "Regenbogen" (Arcobaleno) sehr. Seit vielen Jahren gingen wir fast täglich am Arcobaleno vorbei, wir hätten früher reingehen sollen, denn die Küche ist es mehr als Wert. Und der freundliche Service des Inhabers ebenfalls. Wir genossen einen 4-Gänger zu einem sehr ehrlichen Preis. Auf der Karte finden sich neben Menus auch Pasta mit verschiedenen Saucen, sodass unser Sohn auch Genuss am Restaurant fand.

Not directly on the mainstreet, you have to go into a small alley and then go to the 1st floor, but it is definitely worth it ! The service is really customer oriented with the chef coming to welcome you, explain the menu and wave you thanks and goodbye when you leave.The food is just excellent and original, with various sides before starting the meal and during it as well.Highly recommended !Oh thank you so much! you made our day a perfect one! On a summer evening, sitting on the terrasse looking at the river with excellent food and service: what else can you want ?The beef filet was just perfectly cooked and so tender, nicely presented with vegetables. Came for dinner as a group function. We were seated outside in the terrace with beautiful views of Bern Old Town. The wait staff were pleasant and polite and the maître d introduce the meals which was prepared beautifully. So the meal, hors d'oeuvres , entrée, mains and dessert was lovely unfortunately the let down was that I asked for tea at the end. Beautifully presented with nice tea pot and Chinese tea cup but unfortunately with a Lipton T bag hanging out of the tea pot!. Not what I expected after a beautiful meal. If the bag was removed I would have been non the wiser!Overall a nice dinning experience.
