Scranton, at the center of the Lackawanna River Valley and nestled between the Pocono and Endless Mountains, is surrounded by nature. Just ten miles from the city is Lackawanna State Park, where visitors are welcome to sail or ice skate across the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake. But there's no need to leave the city to enjoy the great outdoors. Nay Aug Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and includes a zoo, a museum, two Olympic sized swimming pools and a great gorge topped with a treehouse.

Yes, healthy. Yes, good ingredients. Yes, nice comfortable dining room. But the preparation was a bit, well, (for want of a better word) clinical. It lacked spirit..hutzpah. The lentil soup was very sour with lemon juice in an otherwise thinly flavored broth. The falafel was good, not greasy, a unusually light texture, but also a bit bland. The fatouche was a real disappointment other than the nice EVOO in the bottom of the bowl we stopped up with the slightly doughy pita. Service was just okay, unenthusiastic.

This small turkish influenced restaurant on the 1st floor of the Medical Arts Bldg has a comfortable atomsphere, nice decor, interesting menu of crepes and wraps , platters, desserts and coffees. The crepes are made to order on a special crepe grill and seemed quite popular. I stopped in to get something Mediterranean for a home bound friend and I to share so ordered the Chicken Gyro platter. I waited 20 minutes or more for the order ( I had put 50 centers in the meter + 20 minutes and it was used up when I returned) and was very disappointed in the quality and taste of the meat, tiny tiny dry shredded pieces of chicken served with a lot of rice( the rice was fine but too much), a tasty salad of cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and feta and it came with sliced whole wheat bread. Good think I looked in the bag. when I questioned it the staff looked at me like Gyros are always served with bread. I have been in over 30 restaurants I'd say in my travels in the US and abroad where I have ordered Gyro platters and never had them served with sliced bread. They seemed annoyed when I questioned it and I said I was expecting pita. I was told it would have taken longer but they would do pita. What they then gave me was not Pita but a freshly made soft tortilla like you would use for a wrap. All groceries sell Pita Bread I suggest they buy some. They were obviously bent out of shape. I wish them lick with the Crepe niche but I won't be back or recommending them for sandwiches or platters.

We first visited the restaurant at its previous location in Pittston. They moved to Scranton, opening on March 1st. The new location is a great improvement in decor, lighting and seating. Lovely menu, everything house made, including the pita. Organic meats. My husband had a lamb gyro and I the Garden Mediterranean salad with falafel and hummus. The falafel were excellent--not dry like can be the case. We shared the Garden fries with sumac and a garlic whip to dip them in!Reasonable prices, excellent food, good service. Recommended!
