After reading on Trip Advisor we decided to visit. No regrets. We went on Sunday, it opened at 8pm, so we arrived about 7.55 and waited. By 8.05 it was full, inside and out. By 9.00 most tables were due to turn round so would recommend going at 8 on the dot to 9 as there is no booking. 3 of the 4 of us had pizza, the other a salad. All delicious, with reasonable priced wine too. Service was very good. Good atmosphere too. Very good value.

We stumbled upon this looking for something to eat by google this seemed like a nice and quirky place to go. Arrived there and the waitress and the most idiotic smile on this planet when we asked if we could eat something she didnt seem to bothered. Place was full of just man no joke not a woman apart from the waitress who seemed that was enjoying the man atention. We just turned our back and left. ! Ugh. Not a good place for cartes!!

We went here for a special dinner on a Friday evening, and were surprised to be the only booking (crisis?). Having been here a long time ago, we remembered having had wonderful, if expensive, food, and this repeat visit didn't let our memories down, the food was delicious, perfectly cooked meat, and lovely presentation. Nice touches such as an appetizer whilst we waited for the starter, and impecable service, they checked up on us just the right amount. We had a very enjoyable, delicious meal. Fairly pricey though, so will be saving it for a special occassion again in the future!

Modern restaurant of traditional inspiration focused on market cuisine and directed by the prestigious chef Enrique Perez Malagon (1st Prize of Cantabria 2013).

They have two set menues with lots of dishes. Depending on the colours of the dishes you can pay 15 or 20 euros. The service is efficient and the food is really good and ecclectic.

We only had raciones for lunch outside this beautifully positioned restaurant by the pedestrian bridge and riverside of this pretty Cantabrian village, but it was extremely competently done. The wine; an unusual blend of local Albarino and Reisling grapes was the best we'd had this holiday, and not bad value at 14 euros a bottle. But the outstanding feature was the welcome and the service; from William, the waiter who spoke perfect English thanks to his Irish language tutor and a visit to Dublin. So thanks! And if you're reading this, William, you will by now have, I am sure, consulted Professor Google, to learn the English word, the BILL, la cuenta, is derived not from the abbreviation of your own name, but from a 15th Century 'Middle English' word, in turn derived from the Norman French BILLE and the medieval Latin 'BULLAâ meaning a 'seal or sealed documentâ - which has also come to mean a list, note, paper currency or legal document?

We found it hard to understand the great popularity of this restaurant: while we were there, a large number of people who hadn't booked were turned away and it's no. 1 on the Trip Advisor list.Good points: helpful and rapid service. Bad points: Apart from stressful over-crowding and noise:Poor quality food.My salad was drowned in vinegar and not fresh.A dish called Pastele was served up in both savoury and sweet guises, a sickly sweet mess of semolina: sugar in a savoury dish is not acceptable, the leek (puerros) version had never been near a leek. The mushroom croquettes had not been near a mushroom.Sorry, can't recommend.Dear Duchessa,We are gladly full almost every day. We never turn away people, just give them the option of coming later: as you might understand, we will provide good food and good service to our customers, so we won't just seat them with no previous booking to give a poor service if we are already fully booked.Tripadvisor is a popular ranking site ranked by normal people, so they deserve your respect to their opinions. Our DUO DE PASTELES is one of the most famous and best rated dishes (I lived in England and what you call Pastel is not the same as what we call Pastel, you can always ask first).Leeks have always been leaks and boletus are always fresh to be transformed with the croquettes, what a pity you didnt feel it like that.Best regards,Laura.

We were very hungry when we reached this place after a long drive. Since, some of us were vegetarian we were looking for some veg sandwiches. The staff was very helpful and did some alterations to provide us with some nice sandwiches with fries. The wine was very good.
