Due to this proximity to Nassau, Little Neck remains one of the most suburban-looking areas in New York City. The southern border is the Grand Central Parkway, and to the west is Douglaston. The Little Neck station is the easternmost New York City station on the busy Port Washington Branch of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), and thus Little Neck is home to the busiest of approximately a dozen remaining railway grade crossings in New York City. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 11.

I would normally tell anyone to run away from this type of restaurant, so I was very surprised at the quality, price point and taste.A lot of tables seemed to order special rolls at about $15 each which were quite large. I mixed up a raw tuna plate with salad, ceviche and a thai beef dish.I am going back again in a couple of weeks - time to explore the menu in further detail. Don't expect too much from the decor - kind of casual to say the least but very clean, friendly and good for couples, families and groups.

Conveniently located in a shopping area. Matsaya has nice ambience with excellent selection of Rock music played in the background. My husband and I ordered the sashimi dinner which was very good. The dragon roll was excellent. The other rolls ordered were good. Good service. It is too bad they didn't have appetizers such as shumai and gyoza, but it was a nice experience and we will definitely come back.

It's not Nobu but it is a very good reliable sushi restaurant in an area that is sadly lacking such an establishment. The rolls are very good and their sashimi is also pretty good. The service is excellent and the owners go above and beyond to please. They do a really good takeout and delivery trade and offer good discounts if paying in cash. This is our go to when we want Japanese. Give it a try, I do not think you will be disappointed.

This spot is almost hidden in plain sight. It's on the 2nd flr of tiny little 'plaza' on northern. But they're well known by the locals for years, for having the freshest sashimi and sushi. Their hwedupbap is especially well known for having generous portions and being very delicious. They also give you free greentea ice cream for dessert.

Live not far away from here. The area has become a bit of a culinary destination. We had "budget" lunch and we were very satisfied.The oyster bento were succulent and the pork cutlet bento delicious. Will definitely make this a favorite place. Dinner next!

Outstanding food & service, extensive parking with wide spots. Simply delightful.If anything I felt sorry for ownership, the restaurant remained only 50% full from 3:30 to 5:00PM, they were holding tables empty to honor reservations made for a later time. Obviously, they lost a great deal of income by doing this, Open Table had no tables available after 2:30 PM. Many people were turned away from a restaurant with many available seats.

Our friends recommended to us this place as we do like sushi and other Asians delights. A lot of food, meat, soups, seafood and vegetables and not without tiny pieces dessert spread. Besides sushi my favorite was grass fed grilled beef! So tender and juicy! I had it little more then I should have probably .It was a nice and clean place, fairly busy during lunch hours, plenty seating. Plenty parking as well. Nice place to have a company and enjoy meal. If you are near Garden city, very similar place is called Minado. Look it up. See pictures for details.
