Finally got a reservation. The question was: is it really the best restaurant in Cambridge? And the conclusion is: itâs a definite contender. It had a pleasant ambience and we enjoyed in particular that it has cloth covered benches and sound proofing. I had the boar tagliatelle and it was very good as was our dessert: an amaretto almond torte. Also they served a blue flower earl grey tea which I had never had before and really enjoyed

We had dinner at Il Casale on Saturday night; we were two couples. The meal and service were excellent. Our waiter was very pleasant and very helpful. The women both had a tuna special, which was cooked perfectly. I had the Mediterranean salmon, which was done just the way I like it, medium but not overcooked. The other gentleman had a veal dish that he really enjoyed. We shared salads, which were brought out in two equal portions, which was helpful. The noise level is good - not quiet but just quiet enough so that we could hear each other. We will definitely return again for another occasion. We ordered three small canolis for desert and shared them.

Porciniâs is a superb restaurant and experience. Iâve visited there several times, as I live close by, and Iâve yet to experience anything less than excellent. Then, everyone with whom Iâve come in contact is genuinely friendly, accommodating and helpful.This past Friday evening I was dining alone and was able to get a table on the back patio. The weather was perfect. I ordered the veal chop special (recommended by my server, as I asked her opinion between that and the delicious looking duck special), and it was amazing. Porciniâs has always done veal perfectly and this was no exception. It was tender and flavorful bite after bite, and perfectly grilled. It was accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and oven roasted vegetables, which were also expertly prepared. I left that evening a very happy and content man.So, go for a meal youâll love and you can thank me later!

This incredible Italian restaurant is in a little storefront that will give you pause as it is very unassuming and frankly noisy and crowded. The staff is very accommodating and the food is off the charts. I had a Veal Chop that was stuffed with herbs and croutons and served with a side of vegetables and pasta. Incredible flavor, cooked to perfection, just the best Iâve had this side of Dâ Raymonds in Albany,NYTry this diamond in the rough and you will be richly rewarded!JonG

This is more of a series of recollections than a recommendation. I grew up with a dad who owned restaurants in NYC. He owned a few but his oldest he began in 1932. When he died he left it to the bartender/manager and then it passed on to my sister who held it till 9/11 killed a lot of businesses in New York. Anyway, one of his specialties was Prime Rib. It was fresh. It was cooked perfectly and the servings were generous. After all these years the only restaurant where I will order Prime Rib is The Talk!. It is the same as whenI was a kid. And we3 weâre getting family size servings. Plus they understand the end cut/double serving rule. The vegetables are fresh, the baked potatoes perfectly cooked and the cocktails well mixed. I have never been disappointed with anything off the menu. I love exciting new restaurants that push the food envelope Bulli style. This restaurant has been operating for many years and has managed to maintain a high quality of service, food, and wine. We had a pleasant dinner there recently with excellent friendly service and delicious appetizers. However, we all ordered the same entree special, soft shell crabs, and found them to be mushy and the sauce so heavy that the delicate crab flavor was obscured. Despite this minor imperfection, the meal was excellent overall and the wine list, nearly exclusively Italian, is outstanding.

Very good Italian food in Watertown square. We walked in without a reservation on a Saturday at 7:30 pm and had no problem getting a table. Food is very good. Service was quick and professional. Ample parking in the rear (free after 6 pm). Thereâs a patio in the back for al fresco dining when the weather warms. Bathroom is really small.

Our family of four went to La Campania on a busy Thursday evening and although we had to wait almost half an hour after our scheduled reservation to be seated it was certainly worthwhile. The appetizers â roasted fig, carpaccio, prosciutto and beet insalata â were all enjoyed. The rack of lamb chosen by one of our party was rated âthe best in a very long timeâ while the half rabbit selected by another was âsimply outstandingâ. The duck and tagliolini entrees were also appreciated. The desserts â three chocolate souffles and a tiramisu were exquisite. All in all, a delightful experience.

For a small place there is a surprisingly large amount of options besides pizza, but since that is done so well why would one bother?I had a gourmet delight white sauced, garlicy, mushrooms and carmelized oniony. The crackery crust even held its crisp overnight. Several craft beers and a well-priced wine selection, served by a seriously happy waitress underscored why it seemed to be date night for locals.Great place.
