Great service and food. Parking is limited. This is a loud restaurant even at 8 PM. The restaurant has a open atmosphere that amplifies sound. The food was great. We had the seared scallops and eggplant parmigian. We had excellent service. I recommend reservations on Friday and Saturday nights.

As I was walking around Rock Island district, waiting for friends to pick me up, I stumbled across this place that serves Mexi-Terranian food and drinks. I had no intentions of eating Mexican food since I'm visiting from El Paso and can get it any time, but I was intrigued. I'm so glad I went in! I had the posole verde and an amazing side salad of fresh Romaine lettuce, pear slices, walnuts and shredded parmesan in a delectable peppery vinaigrette dressing. The posole was the perfect flavor with shredded chicken and crisp sliced radish. The chips included were crisp, appropriately salted and not the least bit greasy. That combo was an easy $7! I paired it with a tasty margarita and had sangria for dessert. I highly recommend this place and wish I knew about it earlier during my trip!

This busy little place has always had great food when we have gone there. Probably our only complaint is that some things sell out if we don't get there early. But there are still plenty of options to choose from. Friendly staff, good prices, and a relaxed atmosphere make it a nice stopping place for lunch.

There are about five of these in the Quad-cities, we like this location, but they are all great. This is not the safest neighborhood, but we always get great service in their small serving area. We like a lot of their pizzas, the Chicken Fiesta, Chicken Santa Fe, The Rink and the Hat Trick are some of our favorites. I know it is unhealthy, but our favorite is the GoldRush appetizer Pizza. I know I am supposed pick up the pizzas by hand and eat it that way, especially in nice rectangular pieces. But I really like to eat the pizza with a knife and fork (I know, that is just plain wrong). So I usually break my plastic knife and fork they give me. I wish they had real silverware. But I cannot register this as a complaint as real pizza eaters do not use silverware.

Huckleberry's pizza & calzones

Reviewed By Jeff_B_Dport

It had been years since I went to Huckleberry's and on a whim I decided to order their Italian calzone in advance and eat it there. I'm glad I did. The lady who took my order was quite friendly and was on the ball. She brought my calzone out and I noticed a slightly different looking crust. It was a bit flaky, in a good way. Had a great crunch and chew to it. The Italian Sausage and Ham were excellent. It looks like they used sliced Italian sausage instead of the typical crumbly sausage which is a great idea. The calzone may seem a little expensive, but it is worth it. They pack it full of great ingredients. I recommend getting the small. It was more than plenty for me. Their pizza sauce is a little sweet, a little tangy and has some spice. Nice compliment to the calzone. The cheese blend was creamy. It just oozed with cheese. I'd rank this as the second best calzone in the QC.

Alfano's Pizza

I have an affinity for family owned and operated restaurants and I don't think it gets more family than this place. I love the assembly line preparation of pizza that includes generations of family members. My favorite dough is the double dough. It is a little heavier than hand tossed, but isn't deep dish either. Right in the middle which is a great spot to be. Their sauce tastes fresh and well seasoned. Their cheese blend is a perfect compliment to the toppings and sauce. Their Italian sausage is the best I've ever had. My favorite combo is pepperoni, Italian sausage and jalapeños to add some kick. I have only one complaint and I am not sure why it happens because it doesn't seem to happen to others or maybe they know something I don't. We always call ahead and arrive a little later than they say and still have to wait for quite awhile. I sit there and watch people walk in and grab their pies and walk out. Not sure why. With that said, the pizza is so good I don't care! I'm not sure I can say it is the best I've ever had, but it is pretty darn close.

where to start? Arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, were seated just inside the door, it seemed. Service arrived later -- much later. Calamari appetizer was good, property cooked to my way of thinking. Then things went south. After some time, the server arrived; we ordered wine. it was presented later. We ordered dinner; salads arrived, mine had the wrong dressing. Server disappeared. Finally asked someone on the floor to find her. She returned. I pointed out that I asked for blue cheese dressing, not the house. Ok. She said, leaving the salad at the table. Steaks arrived next. My companion said, no, I don't want the entree with my salad in front of me. My "other" salad arrived. Server asked if we wanted our steaks returned to the kitchen. Yes, thank you. At some time after we finished our salads (punishment perhaps?) our steaks returned, I've never seen a skinnier ribeye -- or had one so salty and overcooked. AT this point, our goal was to eat and leave. After paying the tab, my companion asked a nearby person to talk with us. "Are you the manager?" he inquired. "For today, yes" she replied. My companion related our adventure She said she could not adjust the tab since it had been run, but offered us her sympathy and a glass of wine. we accepted both. Suffice to say I've been here before and I loved the food and service. But I guess all good things must end. I will be back in Moline, but not at Johnny's.Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am disappointed to hear about your recent experience. This small family run place does an excellent job. Three of us shared a Cesar salad without the chicken and a large thin crust pizza with sausage, tomatoes and giardenira. The salad was crisp and tasty served with plenty of an excellent dressing (in a package) on the side. The pizza was packed with toppings and delicious. The only thing I would change were the peppers. We thought they would be milder due to the type they were. We like hot peppers a lot but in this case they overwhelmed the other flavors so we picked many if them off. Still, a great pizza.
