Excellent steakhouse!   We split a 14 oz center cut ribeye and got three appetizers - the Chistorra (Spanish sausage - made of beef for those of you who don't eat pork),  the Provoleta (pan fried Provolone cheese), and Camarones Maclean (shrimp with Argentinian beer batter).   The beer batter shrimp was outstanding!   It came with a sauce that was almost like bearnaise sauce except with fresh oregano instead of tarragon.   I ended up saving the sauce for the steak as well.  The steak was very good but could have used some extra sauce on the side which they don't have - HINT: my favorites are bearnaise sauce and red wine sauce with shallots or mushrooms or green peppercorns.  Steak sauce may not be authentic Argentinian, but does add a lot to the flavor of the steak.  One final compliment - the bread was outstanding!  Flaky crust, soft center, freshly made.  It came with  olive oil with fresh oregano and chicken pate as well as the usual butter.   I'm not into pate, but the chicken pate was not bad at all.  The oregano in the olive oil was obviously fresh as its flavor was soaked into the olive oil.  The restaurant decor was fairly elegant, with white table cloth (the extra napkin under the main plate and utensils is a nice touch), dark wood, and just the right amount of romantic mood lighting, bright enough to see the food, and not too dark.  Service was excellent, and there is a good wine list, starting with a number of Malbecs, my favorite. The menu has a many other things to try, and this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Laredo.   You wouldn't know it though, from the locals, as there weren't that many people there with us, compared to the Border Foundry next door (which is really  more a place for well-heeled Laredoans to be seen and to socialize in, rather than having really outstanding food).  So let's hope the people of Laredo get out and support this restaurant better.Dear GGreyhame, your feedback is immensely appreciated, it strengthens our commitment to contribute toward the improvement of the gastronomical quality and diversity a great city such as Laredo deserves.
