We have been here every summer since they opened, and it's something beyond anything else. It's like coming to a small new world. Their food is really really great and it's very well done. That you can borrow bikes to explore the surroundings is fantastic. We are very thankful for this place.

A piece of Barcelona in Ljugarn, Gotland. Delicious tapas and a large assortment of cava. Open only during summer season, 25th of June to 20th of August.

This is the best place we have eaten in Gotland. Friendly staff and delicious food. We had a tapas with many different dishes. I highly recommend the cheese ball with chevre.It's often crowded, so you should probably reserve a table if you want to eat here. The place is a bit pricey, but worth it!

Walking around fantastic Visby, getting hungry, and stumble in to this little restaurant called Bistro. From the outside it looks just like a regular place, but don't let that fool you.First they offer a big smile and a warm welcome, a different and curios menu that's thrilling to your taste buds, and a city scenery that relaxes you to enjoy the food you ordered. Restaurant with full menu all day. Kitchen is open 11.00am-9.00 pm. Live music. Also café with coffee, home baked cakes, sandwiches, icecream and pitch-and-putt. Open only during summer season, June-August.

Not far from Ljugarn Centre is this café located almost on the beach. Mainly outdoor seating and close to beach activities and a minigolf.Personell is nice and helpful and the menue impressive but you could also go lighter with e.g. coffee and snacks.

We went to have drinks at Clarions small terrace. My feeling is there was students making drinks in summer not so professional. Price level was anyway good. Drinks like I can do that myself.

Smakrike is living up to its reputation as probably one of the very best restaurants in Gotland, both in terms of quality, originality and the setting. Besides a 5-meal set course with wine (that we did not try), the a la carte menu covers some 6-7 starters and an equal number of main dishes. In particular the starters are exquisite, beautifully prepared and presented, excellent ingredients. For main we had the tender sirloin and the trout; both were excellently cooked, although the trout was a bit salty, the accompanying vegetables were perfect (even from the restaurant garden itself!) The desserts followed the same line: excellent choice of mainly local ingredients (wild strawberries, homemade parfait, original jams, ..) Setting warm and 'homely' with sofas and quilts, mixed crowd, terrace and indoor, relatively few tables. Price level higher end, especially for main courses, and limited choice of wine by the glass, but overall a true gastronomic experience of the island.

This is a restaurant we try to afford when in Visby. We had the chevre for starters and the lamb for main course. The main course looks like it's not enough, but I couldn't make room for desert, so it was perfectly balanced. The staff was nice. We chose to sit indoors to come away from the sun. It was a bit hot indoors aswell, but it was a hot summer evening.

This culinary gem is serving family-style dishes of outstanding, inspirational quality. We had 8 of them and wished we could have tried them all. We heard that Gotland has great chefs - but we never would have thought to get this amazing food. The owner-couple could open a restaurant anywhere in the world and would be successful. And by the way: Leave room for the mouthwatering desserts.
