We tried Hess Weinrestaurant about ten years ago and did not return until friends gave us a gift certificate. The restaurant is mostly as I remembered it. Our waitress seemed to be new on the job, but was friendly and as helpful as she could be. We each chose the degustation menu. The ala carte menu was standard Gasthaus fare. The wines were all from well-known local premier vintners. They were everything we expected. The âGreeting from the Kitchenâ was a piece of white bread piled high with Schmalz â rendered fat. I know this is a traditional dish, but this is rather ordinary food for a degustation menu. My two companions found it quite ordinary. I find it disgusting and did not try it. As for the rest of the menu, it was good, but nothing special. The salad was small but the dressing tasty. The soup was heavy on the lentils but light on taste. The ravioli also suffered from a lack of taste. The Zander was cooked well. The potato and leek dish that accompanied the main course was similar to what my wife whipped up for lunch, but not as tasty as hers. The desert was small, nice, but again, not memorable. At 26 Euro the meal was more expensive than what we would have chosen ala carte, but a fair value for a Menu. There were several small touches that detracted from the experience. The water was served in a carafe, probably to disguise the fact that it was bottom shelf quality. The décor was what I remembered from 10 years ago, but it is not especially warm. Other reviewers complained of noise from the neighboring train tracks. We found it quite minimal. In short, we were satisfied with the meal, but there are much better kitchens and better values to be found in Schweinfurt.

wir waren bereits mehrfach dort. Uns gefällt der freundliche Service und die etwas andere Speisekarte. Von bodenständig fränkisch bis kreativ. Auf das Essen muss man teilweise etwas warten, aber dafür passt die Qualität. Evt. könnte manchmal etwas mehr Gewürz an den Speisen sein, allerdings ist das wohl Geschmackssache. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passend.

A group of friends and co-workers road bicycles through the forest and up the dirt road to get to this popular, busy, boisterous outdoor beer garden. Biggest dishes of schnitzel you will ever see! I ordered the half size of jägerschnitzel and it was still big, but manageable. It came with fries and a pickled salad. Shouldn't have ordered the whole liter of pils to wash it down. That was huge too!The long tables were great for parking our whole group together and since this is all outside you can be noisy. You have to place your order for food and pay for it at a separate window than you get the drinks from and they will give you a tag with a number. They announce the number in German, so if you don't know your German you better ask for them to announce it in English. The ladies behind the counter have no time for nonsense as can be seen on their faces when you don't already know what you want or have your money ready on a busy night.

We've been a here a few times over the last 3 years and it doesn't disappoint. There are quite a few options on the menu, including some for vegetarians. Service is mostly friendly and the food really is very good. We usually come in a group of at least 6 and there is room for us, particularly when we also need wheelchair access.

I was with 6 colleagues for dinner - we did call ahead for a reservation. The Global Bowl was SO tasty!! Everyone said their food was nothing short of amazing. This is a small cozy atmosphere, a bit on the trendy side, but not off-putting. No English menu available, but the servers spoke decent English, so I got by.

We had not eaten at the Grune Gans in the last few years, but tried it again this week. Little has changed in the last decade or so. The dining room is still dark green and a bit shabby looking. The menu is up-scale and rather pricey for Schweinfurt, but the food is still well above average. I had the Barbary Duck Breast. At 18.90 Euro, it is the most expensive in the region. It was tender, but ever so slightly dry. I suppose that is to be expected when the breast is separated from the rest of the duck. I was pleased with all the accompanying sides but the Kartoffelplätzchen. It too was dry and had an unpleasant taste. The others at table had desserts and were pleased with their meals. While I can recommend the restaurant, I feel it is overpriced.

This restaurant scores top points for service which is very friendly and efficient. They go out of their way to be service-oriented. The interior is appealing and the adjacent night bar that belong to the restaurant looked to have a really good atmosphere.I chose the argentine angus fillet with bearnaise sauce and salad. I ordered the steak bleu which was probably rarer than they normally serve it, because the menu only offered two choices. The steak knife did not cut the meat "like butter" and the filet meat was a bit tough. The bearnaise sauce was a lot darker than bearnaise sauce normally is but they assured me it was the right sauce. The estragon also suggested that it was. For a steak fillet that cost around 23 euros I expect better quality than I got on this day. The generous four star review is for the ambience, service and the wine that was offered. Probably this is quality food but this steak was not suitable to be served "bleu".

Located in the center of town, the Brauhaus is not really a Brauhaus anymore, rather it is a restaurant that retained its predecessor's name but sells beer brewed elsewhere. After being closed for a lengthy full renovation, the restaurant has reopened and regained its predecessor's reputation for excellent food.We ate there on a Saturday evening, without reservations. Our table was at the door and was quite chilly. Fortunately, we were able to move to a better table before our food arrived. In the course of our meal, we had 3 waiters. One was pleasant and helpful, one average and the third was rude and abrupt.The menu had an above average number of selections for each course. Prices were in line with the quality of the food. My wife ordered the goose and I the Matjas marinated in Port. Both were excellent. We each had different beers. This restaurant consistently short fills their beer mugs and glasses. Each of our beers was at least a centimeter below the full line. We mentioned it to two of our waiters. One shrugged it off and the other was annoyed that we complained. No one addressed the problem. We had a similar experience on our last visit.The restaurant is not an especially pleasant place to eat. The new furniture is a bit uncomfortable and the lack of sound dampening pushes the noise level to the point of being obnoxious.Despite the short-filled beverages and noise level, I reluctantly recommend the restaurant based on its excellent food.

Nach all der positiven Kritik im Netz, haben wir, mit Vorfreude auf einen leckeren frische Fisch, den Ozean Grill besucht.Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht.Der Salat war sehr geschmacksneutral. Dressing Fehlanzeige.Die angebote Lachsforelle war eine normele, mindestens zwei Tage alte Forelle.Die Dorade war sehr klein ausgefallen.Während unseres Besuches wurden frischen Lebensmittel in Plasktüten vom Discounter angeliefert.Preis Leistung steht meiner Meinung nach in keinem Verhälnis.
