Ein US-Soldat, der hier blieb nach dem Abzug der US-Truppen in Schweinfurt eröffnete dieses typisch amerikanische Restaurant mit Schwerpunkt auf Burger. Das Lokal befindet sich direkt am Sportstadion und lädt innen wie auf der AuÃenterrasse zum speisen ein. Burger gibt's in unterschiedlichsten GröÃen und Varianten und sie schmecken sehr gut bei noch fairen Preisen. Nette Deko, nette US-Pop Musik aus dem Lautsprecher, nettes Personal sowie eine Verabschiedung per Handshake vom Chef persönlich runden das sehr gute Bild ab.

Let me start by saying that if you plan on eating here Saturday night you must have reservations or great luck. We had great luck but the 25 or so people who came in behind us were turned away as there simply was no room. There is not a lot of seating to start but a small number of bar stools were available for my family during my visit so we bellied up to the bar. This is easily the most American burger joint in regards to flavor in all of Germany. The menu is certain to have something greasy and uniquely American that will fill the void until your return to the States. We will definately return. We read a few poor reviews online about the place but experiences must vary because we were very pleased with the speed and service. The decor was a mix of Southern U.S. gas station and Mom n Pop Diner. Between what you see there and what you read online you can figure the place is run by a retired Army MP (don't hold it against him) who can't bear to leave Germany. There's a parking lot right out front as well but not really necessary if you want to have a few beers during your stay, the walk from post is reasonable.

This is a new restaurant trying to offer a cuisine that it is uncomfortable with. Parking is inadequate for the seating capacity. Reservations are accepted, but every table is reserved. Really? Then why did we just get to pick the one we want? The menu is long, but there are many items that are a shade different from one another. Minus the redundancy, the selection is rather limited. Our waitress, Jhelisa, was attentive, efficient and accommodating. My wife ordered a small steak and I one of the hamburgers. We shared a baked potato.As we waited for our food, we took in the ambiance. The outer walls are are the bricks advertised in the name. The interior seems to aspire to being outdoors on a beach. There is a wrap-around seascape and lots of what looked like artificial wood, garnished with fake palm trees. There are several slightly different levels that serve as optical variety (or as obstacles to the handicapped). On the positive side, there was no collection of TVs tuned to different sports stations - as are ubiquitous in similar American restaurants. Those hated devices destroy conversation and isolate us at family tables. Kudos to the Brick House for that failure to mimic American Isolationism.Most disappointing was the food. My wife's beef steak was of mediocre quality (not unusual for continental Europe). My hamburger was rather tasteless. The condiments added to the burgers were nothing special. The baked potato was the worst of the dishes. That dish requires a special type of potato, one with a thick skin that crisps up with baking. What was served here was more appropriate for boiled potatoes.The beer and wine selection was rather limited for a restaurant with such a large seating capacity. We shall try the Brick House again in hopes that they will improve with time. Judging by the crowd, there is a market for American food. We just found the quality and preparation lacking.

This is a traditional American Burger place but in Schweinfurt! Really Great Burgers. I took the bulled pork, fantastic. Good affordable prices too. However no wine, who drinks wine with burgers anyway. The place is very popular so Friday or Saturday evening a reservation is needed or else no table since the place is pretty small. Good for small groups. Close to city center.
