My husband and I are walking the Camino de Santiago and rather than having the traditional pilgrim food, we ventured out to this delightful and delicious restaurant. We shared a tomato salad with a tahini dressing that made us both swoon. We also shared the grilled squid which was amazingly sweet and tender. Our waitress spoke impeccable English and welcomed us into her restaurant with warmth and kindness. We encourage all Peregrinos to converge on this great place!

Really service start very bad because waiter missed some drinks and food. At the end a new waiter arrive and service improve quite a lot and was perfect.Food was OK.Reason I don't add more starts is because first waiter was a madness making us angry specially because we had kids that start to be uncomfortable Thanks for sharing your opinion. We felt that the service was not entirely correct and that the first waiter did not attend to you as it should. We take note of the comment to improve and not repeat. We appreciate your words because they always help us to improve. We are glad that they enjoyed the food. Best wishes.

The bar has excellent tortilla de papas (like a potato omelette), but their tortilla with truffles and mushrooms is outstanding.

Restaurante Mixtura

I was a bit sceptical to be honest: Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine? In the end, I detected very little Japanese in the food but some Spanish undercurrents. We had the Ultramar menu gastronomique and the food - with one exception - was brilliant. Very elegantly presented in every dish splashes of surprising tastes that put a smile on everyone's face. The ceviche of corvina (croaker) was traditional but also exceptionally well made and the portion size was generous. The other fish dish was a small piece of turbot that hat been thrown in a wok that had burning oil in it. Also pretty good but I think turbot deserves to be eaten slightly undercooked or even raw. The only meat dish was disappointing for two reasons. I love Iberico pork and I do not understand why in most Spanish dishes the meat is cooked in a sauce until it has lost all of its special aroma and its buttery consistency. The cheeks were cooked in a dark sauce and then placed in rice that itself had a coriander sauce. Everybody else liked the cheek, but the rice found no fans. The rice had been precooked (some of the rice corns had split) and simply reheated in a pan. I love risotto and almost never eat it in restaurants because it is not al dente. This rice was a half hour on the wrong side of al dente. It wasn't even risotto rice. Coriander/cilantro has a very strong flavour and the rice was very green. But there was no flavour to it! The Chardonnay was a typical Navarrese Chardonnay (13.5% alc, yet light and citrussy) and accompanied the meal perfectly. The service was wonderful, one can look into the kitchen, and the decor was very pleasant. If you are tired of Spanish food (it is fantastic, but variety is also good), I can highly recommend Mixtura.Dear Matt:Thank you very much for your great opinion about the experience in Mixtura. We really appreciate you share this fantastic moments in our Restaurant.
