Small place with a big reputation... so we figured we'd try it for a special occasion. Glad we did. The food is amazing. Truly exceptional. Decided to not go with the tasting menu (will do it next time), and instead we tried a couple of starters, then the salmon, and everything was great. The kitchen here knows what its doing, the service is top shelf, and its worth the price if you want something special in terms of excellence in food flavour and presentation.Thank you Volenti for your kind words about your evening at Saveur. We value the use of fresh and local ingredients which is reflected in the flavours on the plates, as well as keeps the menu constantly changing so there are new dishes popping up regularly. We Look forward to welcoming you back to try the tasting menu on your next visit.

The founder of this restaurant is Indian and he took what he knew of that cuisine and mixed it with the local ingredients, primarily fish, to come up with new and inventive and flavorful food. My husband thought this might be the best place we have eaten in our whole trip to Vancouver and Vancouver Island. He had the daily catch, cod with rice and their masala. I had Pondicherry, wild salmon Kafka also with rice and Masala. The Fort St location is small and pretty simple. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. An excellent meal

Brasserie L'ecole

We had charcuterie and saanich salad with saucisson d’arles. Both were excellent. We shared a moules frites which is a typical French dish but we’re disappointed. The mussels were steamed to perfection, but the seasonings were bland and the fries were dry - definitely not the twice fried flavourable French fries. The menu selection is limited, unless you want steaks. We went there because the menu on the website shows Confit de canard as a choice but not on the restaurant menu..... Décors and services are good.

Vis a Vis is a lovely French style restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The prices were mid-range, and offered a variety of food choices from Lobster Bisque to Charcuterie plates and full meals. My husband and I sat at the indoor street bar which faced the outdoors. We had a view of passerbies and the beautiful patio. We would definitely eat here again.
