Food was just perfect as was the service and the atmosphere. Our table was ready on time.Great place for a romantic or just fun night out. Wine was reasonably priced and so was the food, given the quality.

Can Can Brasserie

My boyfriend and I visited for brunch on a Saturday. We were seated next to the windows, providing us with natural light, fresh air, and great people watching! We both got coffee, which was good, not great or bad. We were both interested in a cocktail, but it was $12, so we decided against ordering it. The complementary mixed butter was amazing and very fresh. The butter was of European style. I ordered a Croque Madame with an order of the aioli trio. He got the French onion soup. He shared my food after he finished his cup of soup. The Croque Madame was heavenly. The frites were cooked perfectly. We were not charged for coffee and our bill was ~$30. Next time, we plan to just order a Croque Madame and aioli trio. Our server was polite and brought everything promptly. The restaurant itself is beautiful. If you order strategically, you can eat here at a reasonable price and enjoy a delicious and filing meal.

Hot, delicious food served quickly and expertly. Attentive service. Outstanding ambience. Pleasant background music, at the perfect volume, while the restaurant itself was quiet enough for convivial conversation without having to raise one's voice. Highly recommended.

Located on a cobblestone street in downtown Richmond, Bobette is more stylish restaurant than bistro. Muted gray seating and white tablecloths are not what “bistro” brings to mind. The menu has many choices that I haven’t seen anywhere lately, and we just came back from a trip to Paris. The Thursday 3 course menu included a salad, main and dessert for a reasonable price. And the main was skate which I love and haven’t had in quite a while; it was beautifully presented with freshly creamed mashed potatoes. The lemon crepe dessert was very nice. My partner had foie gras (not pate) which was ethereal. And oxtail ravioli in a leek truffle sauce…killer! The service was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The wine list has some good values and some fancy expensive bottles if you’re so inclined. If I lived in Richmond this would be my go-to place.
