Best French food near Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Find out what French restaurants to try in Paris. Paris, inspiring and timeless, is as beautiful as a postcard. Spiraling out from its central islands, its many neighborhoods each have their own character and energy. And the best way to discover their charms is on foot, whether you're strolling the bustling grandeur of the Champs-Elysées or seeking out the final resting place of a favorite figure at Père Lachaise. There's always a café or bakery a few steps away to restore spirits while you explore, or a gorgeously decorated shop window to remind you of this city's love of beauty. Every so often, as you lose yourself down another small street, you’ll glimpse the Eiffel Tower and be instantly reminded why it's so easy to fall in love with the City of Lights.

Le Gabriel

Le Gabriel is in the very top tier of restaurants not only in Paris, not only in France, not only in Europe but globally. This is an establishment firing on all cylinders and then some. The room is a gorgeous jewel box, refined, yet alluring; the staff are beyond compare, every move, interaction, encounter is one to cherish, and the food? I had the vegan tasting menu with a wine pairing - each course was a dream of beauty and gastronomy brilliance. Yes, it really is that good. Le Gabriel is without doubt the best dining experience I've had this year and one of the top ten best meals I've ever experienced.Dear Sir,First of all, we would like to thank you for sharing your experience in our restaurant, Le Gabriel. We are delighted to hear that you have enjoyed your gastronomic experience at Le Gabriel. The room was designed and decorated by the famous interior designer, Jacques Garcia, and aimed to reproduce the Napoleon 3rd era interior style to put forward the history of the building. Our restaurant team and the Chef, Jerome Banctel, all strive to offer the best possible gastronomic experience to our guests whether it be through the service or the elaborate dishes, and we are thrilled that every aspect of your experience have satisfied you.The whole team and myself wish to thank you sincerely for your comment. Kei Restaurant

Reviewed By schmidtmg

Kei is a sophisticated 2 Michelin star restaurant run by Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi, who trained in some of the most prestigious French restaurants. Our dinner there was a delightful experience. The 'jardin de légumes croquants', a signature dish of Kei, will remain among the most delicious salads we have eaten. So was the bar presented with a crispy skin. I had read about a special off-the-menu dish Kei offers during game season from late October to late November - l'Oreiller de la Belle Aurore - basically a pithivier filled with 15 or 16 different types of meat, mostly game - we ordered one in advance and it was brought and cut at the table. Pretty unforgettable dish - and the rich mushroom sauce 'déglacée au champagne ' was to die for. As this dish replaced the normal meat main on the menu (at an extra of Euro 100 which in this case was fully justified), our daughter ordered a main of old cured beef from Galicia (Spain) - this was truly excellent too. We had an excellent bottle of Condrieu with the menu and a glas of Gevrey-Chambertin with the Oreiller.... Service was excellent.

Pianovins

Reviewed By Hervé L

Pianovins is a very special place. We were looking for a good restaurant in Paris for a Saturday evening. I noticed Pianovins which is very well reviewed. However, it was definitely not the most convenient location for us given where we were staying. Still, something told me it was the right place for us and it sure was. A table was quickly reserved by text message. We could get a table for two. Our reservation was quite early and when we arrived we were almost the only ones inside. The first thing that struck me at Pianovins was the genuine kindness of each and every member of the staff. Everybody greeted us and the smiles on their faces were real. We felt immediately at ease, welcome and peaceful. Eric showed us to our table and gave us the menus. We chose the menu Découverte. The wine list was very impressive and you could tell that Eric, who put it together, is really passionate about wines. We decided to go for a wine pairing and to let us be guided by Eric. The selection was perfect with among other things a very interesting Chardonnay from Mâconnais and an excellent Barbera d'Asti from Piedmont. We just indicated how many glasses we were contemplating and Eric did the rest. The food was simple yet inventive and very tasty. I mentioned simple because each dish revolved over a few very good and fresh ingredients, prepared to sublimate their flavours and not to impress the critics. The amuse-bouche for instance had two main ingredients, zucchinis and chorizo. A simple yet powerful combination where all flavours were crisp, recognizable and well combined. The starter was a slightly dried tomato filled with a goat cheese cream and served with basil and a toast with tapenade. Again, fresh and tasteful ingredients. Simple and excellent presentation. The next dish was also beautiful, tasty and simple. Cockles and razor shells. The sauce was the cooking juices from the shells whisked with butter. Delicious with the excellent rustic bread served throughout the meal. Meanwhile the place was slowly filling up. By the middle of our meal it was full. Then came the turbot with chanterelles. The fish was cooked to perfection. The mushrooms were very flavorful. The next dish was the boneless chicken served with peas and artichoke. A great combination. The two desserts were very complimentary and very well executed: not too big, not too sweet, not overpowering. First, slightly cooked red fruits in a juice with homemade sorbet and a crispy "tuile" cookie. Excellent. Then the chocolate ganache with meringue crumbs. Rich but perfectly balanced. I have not mentioned the service yet because it really deserves a special note. I already said before that everybody there was genuinely kind. Eric was very helpful and professional. I would like to specially thank Victoire for her great hospitality, her kind calmness and her constant but discreet attention to our needs. She made our dinner at Pianovins a very special experience full of kindness and serenity. Many thanks to Michel, Eric, Victoire and the whole team of Pianovins. It has been a memorable evening!Thank you for your description of Pianovins, you are writing exactly what we want to share every day at the lunch and at the diner. All the team is very touched and we hope to see you again, soon as possible, at pianovins.Michel, Eric and all the team.

We went to this restaurant based on the reviews and, as stated, the waiter was absolutely charming and very helpful. However, the food was not very interesting. We are foodies and have our favorite PARIS restaurants (number one is Les Enfants Rouges), but we always lIke to try new ones. The fish plat was quite good with an excellent lemon sauce; the faux fillet tough and flavorless. Deserts and entree unmemorable. We shall not return.

Dinner at JJ Beaumarchais was a highlight of our visit to Paris. The place has a very informal atmosphere and friendly service. There's quite a small menu with a handful of starters and a couple of main courses. Even so, it was hard to choose as they all sounded amazing. Help was at hand in the form of a tasting menu offering 6 courses with little portions. All were delicious, a great mix of flavours and textures beautifully presented.Book ahead as this place fills up.

The huge vases burgeoning with red roses in full bloom, the hotel Mascot - a white Birman named 'Faraoun' in lime green collar- basking on a marble table in receptio, the warm & genuine greeting, the plush opulence of the dining room... and I haven't even got to the food! Another diner mentioned the chicken inside the "egg" I saw this happen! Stunning!! Truly, the most magnificent dining experience I have ever experienced. Now I know what it really takes to get those 3 Michelin stars. The choreography of the waitstaff, the visual and visceral pleasure of the food and the suprise dishes were all part of a spectacular show. We went for the Sunday prix-fixe lunch of 3 courses. We received about 7 courses altogether and all for E85 plus wine! This was a bargain! Still we didn't skimp on wine /champagne and extras - after all, this was a once in a lifetime experience. The whole team were devoted to our enjoyment and we sailed out into a beautiful Paris day with such happy smiles! WONDERFUL.

All the burgers comes with small salad and fries. They are VERY generous with the toppings, and the mayonnaise sauce on the side is heaven! So if you want to eat the best burger in the world (yes, world!) go there, you will not regret it! The staff was really friendly, and if you don't speak french they have an english menu :)I would definitely go there again! I'm really happy we've found this place.
