According to the 2010 U.S. Census, it had a population of 13,901. Its nickname is "City of the Hills." While the word "oneonta" is of undetermined origin, it is popularly believed to mean "place of open rocks" in the Mohawk language. This refers to a prominent geological formation known as "Tablerocks" at the western end of the city.

Stopped by here and I believe the building and restaurant are new. The servers were very friendly and you get to select your toppings and make your items just the way you want them. They offer salads, without a shell, for those watching calories. My husband ordered an item with pork and they had just run out they put some on, which was great. We were expecting them to tell us to pick something else but they quickly were able to get some pork cooked up. The place was very clean and we enjoyed our meal.

haven't been in Oneonta in years. Stopped by recently to this restaurant. Very updated since my last visit. Stopped for breakfast and was very pleased. Clean with quick service. The workers were very friendly and professional/ made for a very good experience.

We have enjoyed every meal we have had at Bistro On Main. We eat there at least 10-15 times a year. The service is always excellent. We enjoy being able to get multiple dishes and share them. I like that menu changes (of course I miss my old favorites, but like that I get new choices). Everything is cooked to order and fresh. Parking is can be tricky, but it worth a little extra walk.
