We started with the grilled avocado and have never tried a better appetizer anywhere! We then ordered the wild boar ragout and wild salmon. They were both incredible and enjoyed from start to finish. Great atmosphere and our server, Ashley, was very professional and efficient. What more can you say? Our new favorite Wichita restaurant and we’ll be back often.

Fetch Bar & Grill

Reviewed By evajess2017

This review is an update of my earlier one from March 12, 2017. At that time I raved about the chef, whom we had followed from his previous restaurant; but alas, he eventually moved to another establishment, and we started going somewhere else for our usual Saturday brunch. Recently, we learned that the Food Channel’s Chef Ramsey in his program “Kitchen Nightmares” had decided to feature Fetch Bistro on his program; it should be aired sometimes this spring. If you’re not familiar with the show, the famous but bristly chef selects restaurants nationwide that have a unique concept but who are struggling for one reason or another and helps them (read that as “rips them apart from top to bottom”) to help them succeed. Consider what an honor it is to be selected from among all the jillions of eating establishments across America! We always did love the concept of Fetch, so we wanted to return and discover what changes had been made. The atmosphere is fantastically improved with a chic and contemporary look with light oak tables and elegant wall and table décor—think of the style you’d find from Pottery Barn. To be honest, I was frankly turned off by the original way the place looked, and the owner told me that Chef Ramsey had exactly the same reaction. Now the restaurant looks gorgeous. The food, even with our favorite chef no longer there, is still truly wonderful. We didn’t find anything on the dinner menu that was specifically vegetarian, so my husband ordered his favorite usual breakfast for dinner while I was “forced” to indulge in something not plant-based. Well, okay, I love Reuben sandwiches and overcame my reluctance to chomp on a cow by ordering one. Never have I tasted a better Reuben, and I’ve been having them occasionally since the 60s all across America. Sometimes restaurants, thinking they’re doing you a favor, put so much corned beef in them that the sandwich ends up being thick but bone dry. The Fetch offering, in contrast, had a perfect blending of all the ingredients so that they melded and got insanely gooey . . . incredible. The next day we returned for breakfast, and I continued my veggie omelet tour of Wichita. As you can see from the picture, it was big and impressive with flavorful chopped botanical items stuffed inside. Perfect. I need to say something about the dog situation, since Fetch Bistro is a place to dine with your doggie friends. During this most recent breakfast, we were surrounded (just in our corner of the room) by two gorgeous Great Pyrenees girls (huge fluffy white dogs), a nine-month old German shepherd, and a rough collie. If you’re not a dog person or have allergies, you will not feel comfortable at this place! They do have a fenced doggie play yard outside; but since it’s currently winter, all the fur is congregated inside. If you do love dogs, you’ll “get it,” and this arrangement will suit you just fine. Picture the completely unique atmosphere—where else do you have spirited conversations with all the people sitting around you? The dogs are always ready to gather a hug from you and lavish you with kisses. If you’re a dog person, this is spectacular fun and highly entertaining. We invariably learn all the dogs’ names (sometimes we even learn the people’s names as well), and joyful conversations spring up as if you’re surrounded by family. The staff at Fetch brings out water for the dogs along with soft beds and food you can order for them. The owners’ two big standard poodles hang out at the front as official, completely congenial greeters; really, it doesn’t get any better than this.

I've been up to the farm to either pick up or hand pick blackberries but last Friday a group of friends met up for dinner. Although they day had been very warm we started on the patio for drinks and appetizers. It was actually very pleasant and the appetizers were lovely. Of course the one with blackberries on top was my favorite. We then moved inside for the remaining courses. The pork loin with roasted purple potatoes and marinated cherries was incredible. We had taken our own wine but they did have a nice wine list. They also had a couple of choices of scotch but that was the limit of their bar service. All of the courses could have been a little larger as I did leave less than content but overall enjoyed the evening. The wait staff was on point, helpful and fun.

Bonefish Grill

Bonefish Grill has amazing food. We went at 6 pm on a Friday night (I know, what were we thinking). It was a 30 minute wait but, a waitress kept bringing over samples of their signature dishes to try so we didn't starve. I had the Cabra Fish. It was amazing. The Chocolate Crème Brule was really good as well. My daughter had the bang bang shrimp and said it was the best she had ever had.
