I just love eating here The menu has always something interesting for me. I look for regional food and meat. I always get good help, what kind of wine to choose. Very friendly staff - I feel very welcome.

When we booked we had no idea it was a surprise menu, so I was nonplussed when I asked see the menu. But do not fear! We were given the choice of fish, meat or vegetarian for starters and mains. Our fish starter - a carpaccio of sorts - was delicious and our main of lamb was also scrumptious. We finished with a very fine cheeseboard. We opted for accompanying wine, thinking we would get a glass per course, but were thrilled that the wine was be free-flowing, and also good quality, not all from Italy either. We had excellent service, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly (don't know why another reviewer groused about that - sometimes its down to personalities!) As a new resident to Basel, this restaurant is find. And we will be back!

I tried the Roots restaurant. Very friendly service there. Was served nice cold coca cola with separate ice supplied. They try to become a Michelin star restaurant some time in the future. I tried the meal of the day, which looked good. It tasted alright.

We booked a table in advance for dinner on a night they had a jazz band. The place is quite small so I do recommend to make a reservation if thereâs an event. The waiter was very charismatic and friendly. We were however left waiting to order drinks on several occasions. The food was lovely. The presentation was on point, as would be expected for such a location. Prices were on the higher side and there was an additional 10chf charge for the band.
