We occasionally come here for lunch. No frills but reasonable service, good food and generous servings. Last week's lunch was salt and pepper bean curd and a king prawn hot pot that featured on the specials board. Loved the salt and pepper bean curd while the prawn dish was very tasty but fiddly to eat. We'd failed to notice from the menu that the prawns were unpeeled but the staff saw us struggling and gave us wet wipes and a bowl of tea to rinse our fingers in. The restaurant also sells Chinese style BBQ meats.

Have eaten here for 30 years, various owners.this occassion one person observed food a bit greasy. It is not strong on flavours yet typical Chinese Malay food. Perhaps bit sweet. Had fried ice cream balls...served cold yet Google suggests should be served warm. Prices are fair. Byo charge $3.50pp. Is licenced. Quick service is having multiple meals insist non break between.

Waldo you think for $328 a banquet could be served efficiently, in a state fit for consumption?This place fell well short on this occasion.Many tables waited and waited for fish. Not just any fish the famous Steamed Whole Barramundi.30mins mid meal waiting, waiting. Ah here it ..........???Mine arrived. Very disappointing indeed.Dwarfed by a huge plate, a small underweight fish covered in a mass of shallots and coriander. It had a matte white appearance not a porcelain lustre that a nice chunk of Barra has. Chunk?? The fish was a juvenile with very little body.Taste... this fish was disgusting?????Disgusting!!! A flavour of dirty river water and chlorine.I couldnât bring my self to eat it.Unfortunately subservient to the occasion my guests ate it without question.Yeah yum cha here is great...Donât by banquet or alacarte.Absolutely disgusting.Waldo eviewSorry to hear you ended with Lobster Set Banquet with low note. We recently visited Westleigh Chinese for a quick visit with friends. Since the revamp of the centre where it is located the overall presentation of the restaurant has improved. I understand it has relatively new owners and I have to say that we were very pleasantly surprised at the service and the quality of the food. Despite it being late on a Tuesday evening and being the only ones there, the food was fresh, hot and tasty. Both my wife and I felt that they may have been a bit heavy handed on the MSG or the salt.

Tonight my husband and I ordered take away Chinese through Menulog. A delivery right on time at 7pm was encouraging, unfortunately the food did not meet any expectations. All entrees including mixed entree, sesame prawn toast and chicken wings were obviously pre cooked and refried, greasy and looking even worse. San choy bow was so bland it was hard to tell what we were eating. The pork dumplings were very good, my saving grace, fried rice just passable. I hesitate to ask why Menulog gave Eastern City such a good rating. We will not order through this restaurant again. I also must say I rarely give a bad review, but a $58 small meal that was very unsatisfactory needs to be acknowledged.

Come to Chiu Chou Garden Seafood Restaurant an enjoy the most incredible authentic and delicious Chinese food, probably the best that we have eaten outside of Chinatown. Let Leon Chiu and his staff spoil you with great dishes, many of which are not available elsewhere in Sydney, freshly cooked and without MSG. The surroundings are a little plain but the food and Leon's friendly service makes it a real experience. You also need to look hard to "spot the Aussie" in amongst the large number of Chinese families who obviously prefer to dine here than to cook at home!

Met with some friends for dinner when we were in Sydney for a couple of days. They have an Australian Menu and a Chinese menu. The food we had was 9/10 and service was very quick. We arrived early and at first the service was overbearing with a waiter interrupting our conversation frequently. This settled down as the restaurant got busy.The food was good enough to make this a regular place when staying in Thornleigh
