I have to confess to being a regular here, drawn to the Crispy Pork, Slow cooked Lamb with cumin, corriander and chilli. The food is always really tasty and fresh. One of the best Chinese Restaurants in Lusaka!

SUMMARYThe Oriental Garden restaurant is fabulous for authentic Indian food, atmosphere is average though. Still highly recommended!FOOD 10/10I have had some of the best chicken tikka of my whole life here, and that's quite a compliment considering I have traveled extensively throughout India and enjoy Indian food regularly.Everything we ordered was delicious, definitely deserves the full score for food quality! Prices were totally agreeable, too.ATMOSPHERE 7/10There is little ethnic decoration and the overall atmosphere was very average, but this might in part be owed to the fact that we went very early, just after they opened that evening. Also, this is Africa and in comparison with the 1980' s canteen atmosphere in your average Zambian food joint, the Oriental Garden restaurant still fares well. Food presentation was fine, too - they were using little stoves and also some sort of charcoal heater for the chicken I thought was cool.SERVICE 8/10Service was quite professional and very friendly, however pretty slow - but this may also be linked to our early arrival.

This is quite different from other conventional type of Chinese restaurant in Lusaka. It is very clean, and easy to order with simple noodle menu. It is located very conveniently in front of Cinema in Manda Hill Shopping Mall. It worth trying. If you order ordinary noodle menu, it is not noodle soup, but friend noodle, by the way.

We had some guests over from Japan last weekend and decided to take them out to this restaurant that we usually see while heading home. When we entered we loved the place and were also attended to very well by the waiter. All was well until the food came out. Honestly the food was a disaster, flavorless and stale is all I can say. I would defiantly return for some drinks but not for a meal.

I can't say that I'm an expert on what is or isn't authentic Chinese food, but I've been to the restaurant in the past with friends who DID consider themselves well versed, and we have all appreciated the dishes at this restaurant. The service is generally timely, the food has always been tasty, and the price is just right for any group size.

We have been faithful customers of Dong Fang for many years, ever since the Wang family started this restaurant in a modest house in Lusaka's Longacres area. Now they have moved to purpose-built premises, with a large open-plan dining room downstairs, and quiet, smaller meeting rooms upstairs (for business or friend/family dining). On warm nights it's fun to eat out on the balcony upstairs, and watch the traffic go by. There is a bar and a little shop of Chinese goods, part of the main dining hall, also a water-feature that cools the place down in the hot season.Food is unfailingly and reliably good (evidenced by its popularity with Chinese customers), though service can be rather slow, and waitstaff not very helpful, attentive, or friendly. Seating is around 4-, 6-, or 8-person tables, with musac in the background.We usually order fried dumplings for starters, and one of the sizzlers for mains. Vegetarians have no trouble finding dishes to their liking, though I'm not sure about vegans. Portions are very generous and filling, and a doggy-bag is provided without complaint or surcharge (as nowadays happens in other eateries).

Our family has been eating at this restaurant for as long as I can remember! I can't recommend this highly enough - yes it's in a slightly odd place but that makes it all the more interesting. Great Chinese food at very reasonable prices, lots of choice and generally just all around great.

The restaurant is around a quiet place. Suggested by Google Map, I ended up in the same location with a different restaurant name.The place does not look very nice from outside, maybe an old house converted to a restaurant.The food was good, beverage selection was limited. The chilli sauce was very tasty and I ended up asking for more.

Food is tasty, ambience is good, service is friendly. Located in the quiet Ibex Hill neighbourbood of Lusaka. Have visited several times in the past 25 years for lunches, brunches, dinner and parties!
