It is the county seat of Carroll County which is included in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. It is the home of the University of West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College. The 2016 United States Census estimates placed the city's population at 26,562.

A few weeks ago on Highway 27 in Carrollton, Georgia, Lee's Kitchen opened its doors in what used to be a Huddle House Restaurant. We could not be happier about the change! The food at Lee's is excellent, the portions are generous, and you can even watch as your items are being prepared. Everyone here is nice, and the prices are more than reasonable. We have found our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Carrollton!

Very good food! Very good service! Good prices with large portions. Lunch portions leave enough for leftovers for dinner. Great place to grab a bite for lunch! I would highly recommend the place if you have some time or are in the area!

Found this slightly out of the way place on another web site. Good reviews from locals so we thought we would give it a try. Chef is awesome! Two cute daughters do the serving and run the front end. This place does large take out business. We were the only ones dining in. Hot and sour soup was perfect on a damp drizzly night, hot both temperature and spice, just sour enough. Full of shiitake mushrooms and rich with flavor. Fried dumplings crispy and packed full! A plate of Hunan beef was plenty to share,platter plied high with crispy, yet tender vegetables and the beef was melt in your mouth! Jasmine tea in tiny clay cups was great accompaniment. We liked it so much we went back the next night. Still the only in house diners as the takeout folks paraded by. This time I had the wonton soup and it was the equal of the hot and sour. Richly flavored broth, plenty of wontons . We tried the Happy Family and the Szechwan chicken. Both enormous platters were piled with perfectly cooked vegetables and plenty of meat. Waitress a little talkative tonight.Highly recommend this little joint! Great food, great prices and worth looking for.

I have been here several times and always thought the food was good until now. I ordered chicken wings and several pieces were not cooked. I told my waitress that they were not cooked. She apologized then at the end of my meal, they were still on my ticket. I told her I had rather not pay for them since they were still bloody in the middle. Then Cathy Ho came over and said she would cook me more. I said I do not want more. I am done eating. She said she would cook me more, but would not take them off my check. I told her no thanks, I have already eaten some raw chicken here tonight and would rather not take a chance on eating any more. I explained that I eat here often and always tip 20% and I am not sure why she would want a customer in the community telling people that not only were they served raw chicken, but they were forced to pay for it as well. Now, I am just sitting at home hoping I do not get sick from this. I have never encountered anything like this. She never apologized or anything. I could care less about $6.00. She acted like I was trying to rip her off even though she pulled the chicken out of the garbage and agreed that they were bloody and raw in the center.

The food in many Chinese restaurants seems to vary only in the sauce it's in, not in the preparation, but at Evergreen, the dishes are distinctive. The lunch buffet includes three soups, I believe, in addition to the main dishes. The hot and sour soup is my favorite of all the Chinese restaurants I've gone to -- just enough vegetables, still crunchy. I'm not especially fond of sweet sauces, but I enjoyed the ones I had, and there were several non-sweet ones that were excellent. I think I would have enjoyed a dish with more spiciness, but most dishes were mild. One of the best things about this restaurant is that it isn't noisy. There is quiet background music, but even when seated near the entrance to the kitchen, you can still have a quiet conversation with your dining partners. This alone would keep me going back! The staff was quiet, attentive without hovering, and competent. The owners seem to care about their customers and are quick to notice when something is lacking. All told, this is a comfortable place to go with no surprises from visit to visit -- kind of a home away from home.

This unimposing Chinese restaurant serves great food for very affordable prices.The ordered Chicken Broccoli tasted very good. The service was friendly, too.
