The most awesome part of this family meal was the delicious food that suited a variety of people - we ended up with doggie bags for dinner the next day - service was also very welcoming.

We were looking for a takeaway meal during a one night stay in Blenheim over the Christmas holidays.We happened upon Springlands Takeaways as we were driving around, and decided to give it a try.The staff in the shop were very friendly and helpful. There was a huge menu, as they do both fish and chips-type foods, and Chinese food. You could have either a Chinese buffet, or order separate Chinese dishes off the menu. We decided to go for the Chinese buffet.We thought the prices were very reasonable. There were seats available to sit on if you ordered off the menu and had to wait for the order to be cooked.We were there a bit before 5pm, so some of the buffet dishes were still being prepared. We waited a few minutes till the bain marie was completed then each chose the $13.50 sized container â there were several smaller or larger options available.We helped ourselves to the food, it all looked really lovely â fresh and tasty.I chose sweet and sour pork, combination fried rice, beef in black bean sauce, mini spring rolls, egg foo yung, and sweet and sour fish. Hubby had almost the same except he had chicken chow mein too.We took the meals back to our motel and were really delighted with the food â it was one of the best Chinese meals weâve had in ages. All the food was very tasty and well cooked.I would most definitely go back again when weâre in Blenheim. Highly recommended.

Staying in Blenheim for the night and after a quick cheap meal.Had previously eaten at Master Roasts & Master Oriential so though we would give it another go.Our group went for both the Chinese buffet and a roast (pork)The buffet had a good selection of Chinese foods, was fresh and tasty.The roast consisted of tender meat and well cooked fresh veggies.All meals reasonably priced.We ate in, dining area clean and well serviced.Nothing flash but good quality Chinese / roast food at a good price.

Organized with friends for a dinner to try this new restaurant. Excited to read in newspaper that its run by folk from Shanghai & Beijing especially after our fabulous holiday of 3 wks in these cities 2 yrs ago. We love good Chinese food and eat it often when holidaying in NZ or overseas.The staff need help to run the business better. Only 1 Lazy Susan available but there are 2 big group tables, no chopsticks put out, no serving cutlery with dishes, sweet & sour pork was neither, plate of fried rice came out last & long after all other meals, food not all brought out together, all dishes not cleared between courses, and no indication that place was BYO drinks! Additionally our eating dishes were small, flat ones and its usual to have bowls for ease with chopsticks. Plates of food are small or large sized - pic is of $22 sizzling black pepper beef and sadly was smaller than menu picture. Very little veges with any of meals - guess you have to order by the plate from vegetarian section?

We bought enough fish and chips for 6 including 2 children, one of the fish had six long bones in it, in fact all the fish tasted as if had been reheated and the batter was like leather.We returned the meal and was told we couldn't have a refund, but he agreed to a mere $20 return. We was so lucky nobody finished up in hospital with the bones, especially the kids ... Never again from this shop.
