A lovely informal cafe with whole grain breads, hummus, sprouts, veggies and wholistic vegetarian and vegan options. I highly recommend this nice cafe if you are looking for a creative, delicious and healthy meal! I had a whole grain breakfast sandwich with hummus, sprouts, avocado, tomato with spring salad and my husband had an omelette liberally appointed with various veggies. Both were the best in town. Coffee from mild to extreme boldness...alcohol available too.

Pakt

Went on a Saturday afternoon for brunch with my girls. We were in town for a getaway and tried Pakt based on good reviews. They didn't disappoint! The atmosphere was chill and the decor We split the chicken and waffles, chicken fried steak and chicken hash (on the specials menu) and were delighted by how tasty all of our dishes were. My favorite by far was the hash on the specials menu. I asked to change out the side salad for a short stack of corn pancakes but they couldn't comply, hence the 4 stars rating. Otherwise, the staff was polite and the service was really good. We loved, loved, loved the Autumn Sunrise cocktail... local apple cider with oj, fresh ginger and bourbon. Just excellent. And be sure to try the homemade hot sauces. There were two at the table, the red one was amazing! On our way out we realized there were more hot sauce choices in the back where the self serve coffee is. Alas, we'll have to make a trip back from NYC to give those a try.

Outdated, An Antique Cafe

Reviewed By rmongoos

My partner and I were looking for someplace to have breakfast while admiring the recently restored pre- and post-Revolutionary era buildings on Kingston’s historic Wall Street when we stumbled onto - and into - Outdated.Outdated is a vegetarian, self-proclaimed “Antique café” - part bakery, part café and part antique shop. Not only do they make delicious, healthy food, but everything in the café is for sale, from the antiques and vintage items on the shelves right down to the chairs you sit on. The owners make a conscious effort to use all local & organic ingredients, and everything - tofu, tortillas, jam, preserves, sauces, dressings, baked goods, cashew cheese, vegan yogurt, salsa, granola and nut milks - is made in-house from scratch. Being more carnivore than vegetarian, I had the huevos rancheros: eggs with tortillas, black beans, cheese, ranchero sauce, pickled jalapeños, pepita salsa, avocado and greens. My partner had the daily breakfast special, which was avocado on toasted sourdough bread with fresh fruit and greens. Both our meals were hearty and delicious, and the coffee and bakery items were also great! Parking is available on the street, and for those of you who know the area, you’ll be pleased to note that the parking meters in the historic section have been removed to keep the street looking more in accordance with the period in which the buildings were constructed.

We were in New Paltz for the weekend and googled “vegan” on the off chance we’d find something, and sure enough Karma Road popped up. The menu looked so good it was hard to choose! We ended up coming here twice the food was so good, and the staff was really nice too. They even let us sample some of the deli items before purchasing which is always much appreciated. We ordered the Hybrid Burrito and the Flexibowl which were both amazing, and since the place is dog-friendly we were able to bring our pup too. We will definitely return next time we’re in town!Thank you for taking the time to tell us your experience. We’re so glad you and your amazing pup found us!S

Good hearty offerings and delightful service. Second time that we went on a Saturday at about noon and found a line to be seated, and a long wait for the kitchen to complete the order. Nice local feel to this place. Comfortable, but not fancy. Worth the stop which is on the path (just off RT 87) from the Adirondacks to NYC.

The Last Bite

Reviewed By bishikawa

The Last Bite in High Falls is one of the nicest restaurants we have visited. The young women that were behind the counter when we visited, Cat and Beth, are cheerful and attentive and create imaginative, tasty breakfast and lunch dishes. The decor is funky, personal and real. The coffee is very good, rich and tasty. Vegans and bacon eaters alike can enjoy wholesome, fresh ingredients combined in imaginative and fun ways with lots of flavor. We had standard, perfectly executed bacon and eggs, accompanied by greens with a nice light dressing for breakfast one morning. The next day, we got some hearty breakfast tacos like we've never had anywhere else. Baked goods are whatever they want to make. We've tried brownies, bread pudding and a coffee cake and they were all very different and all outstanding. This locally owned and operated cafe is loaded with regional character. This is a beautiful part of the country, and if the Last Bite is representative, it's populated with really nice folks.

Definitely my kind of place! Right on the west side of the Walkill Rail Trail, a couple of miles south of the Rosendale Trestle. Pizza, salad, "organic pink drink", even Brazilian-style Pão de Queijo! Really in the woods, feels like you're camping. This is a unique place, a really fun place to grab a bite and a beverage.
