We have holidayed in Gran Canaria for over 25 years and have always just driven past this restaurant.How foolish we have been, we could have enjoyed many years of wonderful evenings like we had last night.The restaurant is simple, rustic and charming, a roaring open grill is the focal point and watching the hard working chef is like theatre. The elevated position ensured that the view was magnificent. The welcome we received from the staff was genuinely warm and friendly. All the food we ordered was delicious and arrived in good time. The grilled prawns starter were enormous! Entrecôte and beef tenderloin both perfectly cooked to our preference. Also, we were impressed with our bottle of white Rioja, an excellent local wine.We chatted a while to the staff and owner & explained how many times we had simply driven past but assured them, never again! As animal lovers, our lovely evening was perfectly rounded off with a game of stick throwing with the owners beautiful and extremely well behaved collie dog âLiaâThank you Cueva Pirata, we will see you again very soon.

Found this little gem in May 2016 when we visited Gran Canaria. On a Thursday they do the most amazing BBQ ribs, meat literally falls off the bone and is so tender. The chips are the best I have tasted in Gran Canaria. Terry, the owner, is an amazing singer and very entertaining. Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Visited here after running the gauntlet at the commercial centre the night before and was looking for a more quiet and enjoyable setting. Found it via TA and the reviews seemed good, was quiet when we first arrived, getting seated and a drink took a while but donât let this put you off. Service was great after.I had the full rack of JD ribs which fry off the bone and my friend had the big man burger, which he claims was the best he has ever had (no mean feat for a man of 54 years!).Well worth a visit.

We hade seafood tagliatelle, okay, but not as good as in Malta. Seafood ravioli was very good. Good service and and very nice place. They was very fast with the food. Good wine and you have to taste it first. Clean and fresh toilets
