We decided to go for a quick dinner and came across this restaurant and we were very pleased with our choice to enter.Surprising quality juicy steak, seasoned with rosemary and a little seasalt. Helpful and polite staff and warm interior to match.Seeing the menu before entering you have a little doubt knowing the prices in the netherlands but you wont regret eating here after. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

In preparation for our Valencia trip I marked this restaurant via TripAdvisor. Monday they are closed, so we reserved a table for 6 via our hotel for Tuesday evening. It turned into a great experience. 20:30 sharp first in the restaurant welcomed by Julio â£ï¸ Couple of bottles red and white wine and we where ready to order. The âBossâ recommended to order the selection of vegetables as starter and we highly recommended this choice before the meat After we received the explanation on the origin of the cows and aging of the meat it was time to make our choice. We selected a 45 days and 79 days steaks (see photo) to taste the difference. With specific cooking method all flavors remain in the meat and the result was phenomenal. Because we already had the starters we skipped dessert and finished with a coffee. We had a date night in Valencia and decided to head off and find beak and trotter after reading the reviews. We had the honey wings and double cheeseburger with fries. Everything was well cooked and tasted delicious. Rob our waiter was just lovely and Ryan the owner came over for a chat later in the evening.As the restaurant had just moved location the menu was limited as they were waiting for new kitchen equipment to be installed but we'll definitely be back in a couple of months to try the ribs. We loved the vibe of the area, away from the tourists and had such a chilled and hip feel just a 10 minute walk from the main central district.

We wanted to enjoy a steak during our break in Valencia so turned to TA to help us choose a restaurant. El Porteno was ranked in the top three and reviews were very positive, so the reservation was made.When we arrived w elected to sit outside - this was a big mistake. After quite a wait the owner came outside to our table with the menus. We asked for a drink while we looked at the menus and were told someone would come shortly. We waited and waited but no one appeared. I had to go into the restaurant three times to ask for some service. The owner brought a beer for me and a bottle of wine between us. I asked for a cooler for the wine and he said he'd bring one straightaway. He didn't. We could see him attending to other diners inside so I went in and asked a waitress for the cooler. It still didn't come. I asked twice more before going back to say if the cooler didn't appear immediately we would not pay for the wine. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, and the owner brought us a small sausage on some bread because of the delay. This sausage was really good. If I could have had four or five of these with some chips I'd have been happy !We had a rib eye and a tenderloin which we were told were both Argentinian. My wife's rib eye was fine, but my tenderloin was woefully undercooked. So we waited again, trying to get some attention from the waiter so he could return my meat to the is was the problem- sitting outside meant that if you wanted something or had a problem you could only speak to a member of staff when they came out to deliver food to another table. Having said that, I wouldn't have been that happy inside because the tables are very close to each other and there were lots of them in a relatively small space.We think the restaurant is run on too few staff - they clearly have many tourists eating there but only the owner spoke English, which meant only he could take orders or deal with any issues or questions. Another English speaking waiter would have take the pressure off the owner, who when we saw him was chatty and friendly.The wine was very good and at 19 euros excellent value for money. There was a steady stream of people going into the restaurant so either they were regulars or were others who had read TA. To be fair, other customers seemed pretty happy when they left so perhaps we were just unlucky, but we can only comment on our own experience. David, we have read your comment carefully and it was probably a bad day for a number of reasons beyond our control.We take note of everything you indicate and we will try to improve if possible some aspects.We thank you for your patience and sincerely we would like to see you again on another occasion, you will be very well received.Until then we wish you and good luck.Take care David a lot !!

We booked a table at this restaurant after having read the reviews about it. We had quite a bit of adventurous journey there because we took the wrong bus, so we had to tackle a few kms on foot. We were getting a bit worried as we had to cross some railway lines as the neigbourhood did not seem appropriate for a top restaurant. However, once we sat at our table, everything was just right again. It is a very small restaurant with a few tables only but the atmosphere is quite nice. Seems to be a family business, one cook and a waitress. We are not used to Spanish dinner times, so we were the first ones there. It was not a problem, however, we were just as well served as others coming in later. By the end of the night the place got packed and service got a little bit slower but it is understandable and was not disturbing.Now to the food. They only have a set menu for all which is the creation of the chef for that day. We received a salad as a starter, then we got cod with a chorizo sauce, then pork with very delicious potatoes and a chees plate to finish with. We also tried some desserts.Everything was prepared with full of flavours but still the dishes were not overcomplicated. You also get plenty of bread to compliment your meal.We have chosen the accompanying wine selection by the glass. We especially enjoyed the red wines - we are quite big fans of tempranillo.I would recommend to try this nice little restaurant if you are not choosy in what you eat and would like to try something different.

Came across this restaurant purely by chance & we are so glad that we did. Mu Husband & I along with our daughter had a superb meal at Asador San Telmo.Fantastic perfectly cooked food, starting with sweetbreads / mollejas with lemon which were very tasty & tender, beef & spinach empanadas & the Argentinian creole sausage, all delicious.Followed by the best steaks that we had in all of our 3 weeks in Spain, plus an excellent steak kebab with a lovely side of tomato salad, what more can I say.We finished off with Limencello shots compliments of the manager.Great staff & very friendly busy atmosphere.Highly recommended"Love the unexpected" !!!
