I knew we were in for it when our waiter tossed a paper napkin across the table and said "That's for the water." It was downhill from there. Our waiter was clearly not experienced in working at a higher-end restaurant and was completely disinterested in taking care of the table. After someone else served our soup, no one came by for over 30 minutes. We would have liked to have ordered more drinks, asked where our dinner was, etc. We finally flagged the waiter down to ask about our meals. He disappeared for another five minutes and then reappeared to tell us that his manager would put a rush on the dinner. We had been at the table for over an hour at this point. We paid for what we had consumed and left. There are too many good restaurants in the area to bother with River.We apologize if you didn't receive the best service while dining with us. On Friday night, the two staff members working the far had nothing but attitude towards the customers. Giving us a menu was quite the task for them. Getting a drink, much less a refill was nearly impossible. The next day, breakfast was quite a mission in itself. Getting someone to seat you and some service was a quite an effort for them.At lunch, I got sick of no service and I hunted down the manager on duty. He had been walking past me as well. I end up going about a mile away to a deli and I had a wonderful meal. I will never ever stop here for even a glass of water.

Highly recommended through Eat in Connecticut facebook group. Attended on a friday for happy hour and was impressed. Great local spot. Tables were packed with families as well as a singles crowd, so a good mix and comfortable for all. Sat at the bar and ordered off both the happy hour and regular menu. Great prices on both menus. Happy Hour drinks $5, Titos on Tap and a great variety on menus. From wings to dinners. Service was good, even at a busy time. Stage area for bands, so looking forward to going again when there is music. Has a vibe that is a combination of sports bar and a country bar. Highly recommend. Add to your list of Happy Hour must haves!

This is a specialty burger restaurant but they can not produce a decent burger. We ordered the nightâs special, a cheese burger with fried pancetta and caramelized onions and the bacon cheeseburger with cheddar and caramelized onions. The former came well done as ordered. The other one was ordered medium which was described as just a little pink but it came as quite rare. The caramelized onions were cold and had no flavor. Both burgers despite their fancy presentation were tasteless. One of us ordered the mixed green salad which had nice fresh greens but absolutely tasteless dressing. The French fries were crisp, and nicely seasoned but were served cold. All told a very disappointing meal. The service was good. There were few customers at 5:30. A business associate chose Carbone's Prime for a dinner while visiting the area. The server has been with Carbone's for 19 years and was part of a great evening as she made great suggestions. The Sicilian meta ball as a starter and the procshutto and burrata was terrific. The veal part was extremely tender. Great Canolli for desert.

We recently went to Joey garlics and had a really good dinner. Itâs not my choice for authentic Italian they do have better than average Italian food. The service was good there were seats available we didnât have to wait in the handicap access was excellent. A young woman was saving two seats at the bar for friends, which really is nonsense. Bartenders didnât want to interject.Thank you so much for visiting! I couldn't be happier to hear you enjoyed your dinner with us! I'm sorry if your experience was anything less than perfect in the bar area. Our bar is self-seating, and I apologize if that put a damper on your visit. Four us us arrived at about 4:00 for Happy Hour. When we seated outdoors, the waitress brought dinner menus. We asked for and received happy hour menus. The selections were such that to satisfy your appetite, you needed to order two. The calimari was especially delicious as were the sliders. The drinks were good as was the service. Before departing, we took a look inside the old building an met the owner who was an very interesting and informative person. All in all, we will be going there in the future. Old Wethersfield is a beautiful area in Connecticut and worth a visit just to see the homes.

There are a lot of restaurants in the Rocky Hill area but we chose the Wood-N-Tap after much debate as we wasn't sure what we fancied to eat that night. We made a good choice. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was fabulous and the price was about right. It was a busy place, but this did not affect the level of service we received. I had the veggie burger and my husband had the classic. Both were great. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.
