We were here Saturday night to see the David Bowie Experience. First I gambled a bit then we walked over to the hotel and ate at the tavern. At this point there was not a wait. Once we were seated I noticed several tables that were empty but not being cleaned either which meant people could not be seated. The bar seating was full the entire time we were there AND honestly that seems to be the place to sit to get waited on in a timely fashion. Our server was covering too many tables and it appeared there were only 2 servers working. Since we noticed this and do not like to wait to get our order in we ordered dinner when she said “I’ll take your drink order and return for your food order”. We made the right choice for us in doing so.More help didn’t arrive until we were almost finished eating then we had a woman stop and ask how dinner was or if we needed anything. Men were out wiping down tables and clearing dishes off tables. This was our first time here so I’m not sure if this is normal and maybe shift change or something. My husband ordered fish & chips and I ordered the Cobb salad with shrimp. My salad had 8 shrimp in it and it was served in a HUGE bowl. I actually asked for a plate to spoon some of it out so I could eat it without stuff falling out of the bowl. Fresh ingredients all the way around, great bleu cheese. I asked for the honey mustard vinaigrette to be served on the side thinking I wouldn’t like it BUT it is soooo good. I don’t like my salads swimming in dressing so I usually order it on the side. I would definitely order this again. My husbands 1 piece of fish was massive too and enough fries for 2 dinners! I was enjoying my salad so much I didn’t taste his fish but he said it was hot and delicious.I would have given this a 5 if not for the slow service.

For my grand-daughter's birthday, we celebrated at City Works Ale and Pour House. This is a very popular place and they have a scratch-kitchen, so everything is fresh. We were all seated and our drink orders taken, and then we ordered our meals. I went with their Ribs and my wife tried the salmon. Both were very tasty. I wish this place was closer to where we live, we would love to come back again.Hi Curt, I'm so glad you all had a nice time at City Works! Thank you for choosing us to celebrate with! We hope that you'll make it back again soon! :) - Lee

We stopped by here for breakfast over the weekend. The first floor has a small seating area with over-the-counter market, where you can order from the menu and they deliver the breakfast to your seat or you can order the items to go. On the second floor was the breakfast buffet only. We weren’t that hungry, so we opted for the over-the-counter market, we build or own plates and our plates and drinks were delivered to our seats on the first floor. The seating area is limited, but there is outdoor seating for beautiful days. The food was too overcooked (e.g. Bacon was almost black and hard) for our taste. Maybe we’ll try the buffet next time instead. The Interior design is rustic and very fitting – loved it!Thank you for your review. I am real sorry to read that the food was overcooked and didn't measure up to the enjoyable atmosphere you described. :/ We appreciate your feedback and do hope to have you back soon! Had food and drinks in this place a few weeks ago. We drank and ate at the bar partly because we weren't going to eat initially but the smell and look of the food coming from the kitchen made us then want to eat - glad we did. The food was freshly made and one of the best value meals we had whilst on an extended visit to the US. There was a singer on out back too which sounded quite entertaining although the wife wouldn't go and watch him he sounded decent anyway - I believe he's a regular. The drinks were great although with it being so popular it was a bit of a struggle on occasion to get the bar staffs attention. I'd definitely recommend this place but probably best off booking given how busy it can get.

We arrived around 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. The place was fairly empty. When we asked around we'd heard the restaurant does a fair amount of hotel business during the week with the hotel in walking distance. We decided to eat dinner @ the bar. I wouldn't call the bar area an actual bar... it's more like a counter eating area in a round. All of the alcohol is kept under the bar, and the atmosphere and ambiance weren't very inviting or intimate as some of the other nicer restaurants in the area. Overall the food wasn't anything special. The Instagram pics and website pics are nice, but the actual plating was quite different. The restaurant isn't very vegan friendly, which is okay, just something to note if you're vegan. All in all it was an okay experience. I wouldn't rush back.
