The Sunday brunch here is a very good deal $10. Lots of variety and excellent views. Very friendly helpful staff and that really try to please you. Nice atmosphere and good variety on the daily menu.

This is a great little cafe and bar! The wait staff is attentive, live music is fun and inclusive, and the food/drinks were awesome! The steak and Chicken Fried Steak were delicious! Their Hatch Queso and chips were gone quick! I also enjoyed their Fried Green Tomatoes! Don't skip this little treat! Visit The Horny Toad Cafe!

We have visited this restaurant several times since it's opening. Great at first , then not so great. After avoiding for a few months, we went back. Glad we did, it was outstanding this time. My scallops while overcooked (isn't all fish in restaurants?), was so tasty, the mushroom app. was equally good. Tuesdays is half off wine bottles so we enjoyed one of those. My spouse's steak was cooked just right and was delicious also. The waiter checked on us frequently and the manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy. We'll go again soon!Thank you for giving us another chance! I'm glad you were satisfied with your return visit! The 'Shrooms are a staff favorite! See you soon!

Very noisy atmosphere due to all the hard surfaces. I tried a flight of cocktails, because I have never had a "cocktail on tap". It was interesting and strong. The portions were not huge but the food was very good, but I do not know if I could say it was a great value for your money. If you want gourmet-style food and portions this delivers. Service was prompt and mostly attentive. It is a nice experience.Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed the food and tap cocktails, and apologize that the atmosphere was a bit loud for you. As a small space, we fill up rather quickly, especially on the weekends! Which is fine, but not the place I would take the whole family. If you are good with the atmosphere, then try the chicken biscuits with truffle honey. They are great!

Possibly best burgers in Denton! Certainly best cream brûlée! Years ago had a few bad experiences so was reluctant to go back; especially with all the choices in Denton now.Anyhow, really glad I did. Been back a few times now and the food has all been consistently good.When busy expect a little slower service and just take the time to enjoy it. Not sure if understaffed or just slower servers.... but the food is really great and worth the wait. Another great item was a huge stuffed avocado... delicious!

Let me start by saying the menu is quite extensive, featuring everything from steaks to seafood and everything in-between. I chose a hamburger with guacamole and sweet potato fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guacamole was just spicy enough for me, but I was glad I had opted out of the jalapenos. The meat was good quality without being greasy or dry, and the brioche bun gallantly held up to the guacamole, bacon, cheese, etc. It is a messy burger because of all of the components so additional napkins is a good idea. The sweet potato fries were also good with the right amount of crispiness. People around me had pasta dishes and entree salads and there were nothing but raves. Now for the downside. Service was a problem. I was there with a large group for lunch, which typically slows service, but waiting 45+ minutes to get our food was unacceptable and a deal breaker for those on an hour lunch break. Our waitress kept repeating when we requested to place our order, to get refills, to inquiries about when our food was coming out, and finally requesting to get our ticket to pay, that she was the only server for 20 people; but it all seemed very puzzling and finally very irritating because the restaurant was not that busy with many tables empty. The manager(?) finally came over and apologized but at that point we were almost an hour into our visit. Other guests who had visited the restaurant with only 2-4 guests reported similar waits for their food. Keep in mind too that this is not a cheap lunch: my hamburger with fries and iced tea was $20 before the tip! All said, I will come again because the food is that good, but when I have an adequate time available to accommodate the wait.

We found Rooster's in Decatur and loved it. Months later we were ecstatic when we were driving through downtown Denton and saw this one. Had to try it and so glad everything was just as good. Love the feel of the place, the service and food. My favorite is the brisket burger. I'm not a brisket guy but this thing is awesome. Also, the chips that come standard are good but also try their onion petals. Prices are very good for the quality you receive. Parking can be tough so try driving around back if full in the front.

While I have been to Denton several times I had not been intoruced to the Barley & Board until my recent visit. This restaurant's setting in an old hotel on the historic square could not be better or more convenient. The atsmosphere is great, even if it is a bit on the noisy side, and the service is impecable. The menu slections are very creative and the portions quite generous. Eventhough it might prove difficult, try to save room for some dessert as the slections are yummy and, I suspect, generous in size. Selection of craft brews is excellent. Well worth a stop if in Denton and worth a deviation in route if traveling near the Denton area.

Saw it on Good Taste with Tangi. Great burgers. They make an extra effort to offer good food; e.g., the mushrooms on the burgers are marinated. The burger was cooked perfectly and the herb fries were excellent. Went after the rush hour on a Monday and there was plenty of room. Be sure to study the Texas Last Supper.
