I enjoy coming this place from time to time. Many items to choice from on their Buffet. Including, Soups, Salads, California Rolls, Peel-n-eat shrimp, a Mongolian Grill, and an assortment of your expected Asian dishes. Make sure you get some ice cream to clean your pallet before you leave.

Shiki is rated a 2 star almost across the board: food quality, waitress service, food timeliness, and even value when weighed against quality. Cheap + Portions mean nothing in terms of sushi. And sashimi is about freshness and sushi grade levels--and when both are poor, is only tasty to the ones who don't know sushi.You are better off getting sashimi, nigiri, and sushi at Publix than here. Publix wins in quality, and is more convenient and cheaper. So, Shiki loses in both food quality and value.I took a risk and ordered 18 piece sashimi and was the worst. We call this gas station quality sushi. There is nothing fresh about it, and even the temperature was too warm for sashimi. I would not be surprised if it was frozen and thawed. I actually left several pieces of sashimi on the table when we left. Unheard of!The wait service and the entire restaurant was very low end. The waitress did not understand the menu, she did not handle the table showing any experience.When sizing up the atmosphere and staff when entering the building, I took a chance against my instincts. Better to listen to my instincts.Only the lowest end Japanese restaurants serve Hibachi chicken, with fried rice, and carrots. And give you a plastic container of orangish sauce. Even the fried rice was lukewarm and did not taste right.I travel weekly extensively across the US, and eat sushi just about weekly.

Like many others ,we walked over from the Red Roof Inn on our way to Florida. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. The service was really good and professional. I thought they had a very nice selection and I tried small portions of various dishes. I was happy that most of what I took was good. The food was warm and there was always someone servicing the buffet. For a low price buffet, you really can not expect much more. We will stop again on our next trip.

Wow!!! Thatâs my first impression. From the drive up to the impressive (for Statesville) new building to the friendly folks to the crisp, fresh, clean atmosphere...perfect! Thereâs been a dearth of hip fusion options in Statesville and Katana fill that need...more than fills it!! We started with Special Spring Rolls which were crisp and fresh, not overdone. The fried dumplings appetizer were flavorful and served hot with traditional soy dipping sauce. Our main entrees were perfect, served I environmentally friendly bowls with choice of fried rice, brown quinoa, brown rice, or sushi rice. My selection was teriyaki steak with broccoli, onion, and mushrooms served over fried rice with sweet carrots. My sweetheart got the chicken teriyaki with broccoli and onion over brown rice. Both were very flavorful and the steak was not overcooked. Dessert was apple pie wontons with vanilla ice cream. Delish!!The service was very quick and attentive without being intrusive. Pricing was fair and all ingredients were fresh. Overall, a very good experience. Iâd definitely recommend as a lunch or dinner spot. This is our new favorite date place for sure!!!

Having eaten at Chopstix many times while traveling through the area, I, like many reviewers, noted a gradual change -- one not for the better. However, my last visit was a pleasant surprise. The friendly wait staff, owner's personal greeting, and chat about the availability of authentic Asian foodstuffs in the new attached grocery was delightful. Pad Thai is Chopstix's signature dish ... worth a try by anyone not familiar with Thai dishes. And no.... it is NOT hot. Level of spiciness for all food is controlled by the customer either through a request when ordering or by ordering "no spice" and adding it at the table. They make their own "hot sauce" that is delicious! They offer Pho (ffffuuur), a signature soup often made popular by Thai street vendors. The Chopstix version is good but seems aimed at American palates. The addition of Thai basil and bean sprouts is a must for the best taste and crunch. Added hot sauce, even just a little for the faint of heart, is recommended. Try a dash of Hoisin sauce too. The green papaya salad, in season, is a sweet, salty, crispy crunch delight for hot pepper lovers. For the reviewers that haven't tried Chopstixs since transition occurred, maybe a trip back is worthwhile. There is no sushi or Japanese food on the menu now. The restaurant reflects a neighborhood atmosphere. It's unique with not a lot of frills.
