Chez Khean is a small and quite new joint in Dieppe. Run by a young chap and his parents, it caters a mix of Thais and Vietnamese dishes. Couple of choice of Asian desserts as well as beers. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff! Chatty owner.Thai dishes are limited to Phad Thai. Fairly large portions, affordable but...See, I have been living in Asia for 20 years and the Pad Thai noodles were not cooked enough...too bad for me. shrimps were fresh and so on but no soy bean, no lemon and the noodles were not cooked. They will improve.Nems rolls were good though. Fresh salad and mint leaves. Bo bun was good too but again the noodles were not good enough. Please cook it a bit longer.Other than that, do not hesitate, great little jointbto discover in Dieppe. Friendly staff. Perfect to have a beer too!

Le Royal Wok

An all you can eat restaurant with a difference - you can select raw ingredients and take them over to the chef to cook them as you wait so you can eat really freshly cooked food [wok or grilled] and in addition there is a buffet for starters, mains and dessert. Good selection of seafood. The welcome 'cocktail' [I presume it is a mixture of fruit juices] is a nice touch. Good value at 16.80 euros. Also children's menu at a much lower price. Location at back of shoppng centre so could be easily missed unless you are heading to McDonalds.

Le Jardin des Lys

Reviewed By liz r

This Chinese buffet opened last year and until recently I'd have given it a much higher rating, based on three excellent meals and one slightly less exciting. But after tonight's outrageous experience...well, boy has it fallen from grace. We were a group of 22, all members of a local club, some of us friends, some barely acquainted. Seated at two separate tables, we had a jolly evening, although some of us were disappointed by some of the food, which wasn't hot enough, and by a chilly draught blowing at intervals through an intermittently opened door. However, the mussels in cream sauce were tasty (if a bit watery), the oysters were cracking fresh, the langoustines were good if a bit smaller than before, the gambas were yummy if not quite so sizzly yummy as before...while not living up to previous visits, the buffet was still pretty good. And then - wham. My friend and I were the last to leave, and mine was the very last bill to be paid. It totalled €29. 'Plus' said the woman at the till, 'there's an €8.50 shortfall on the overall group bill, so I'm adding it to yours, so that'll be €37.50'. With which, she shoved the pinpad at me. What?!? I was being billed for her failure to include an €8.50 item in somebody else's bill? OK, I know it's not a lot of money, but it was still my money, to make up her shortfall on someone else's bill. Since we'd all paid individually, and everyone had paid the bill they were given, the miscalculation had to lie with the restaurant. Either they'd miscalculated their total, or they'd forgotten to include something - most likely a drink - in one of the bills they'd issued. Either way, it had nothing to do with me. 'No' I said, and firmly refused to pay the extra. Aggressively, she shoved the pin pad at me again. 'You were with the group so you pay the shortfall!'.'No.' It was the principle of the thing, and the attitude. And the bullying. Having had a day from hell being bullied by French bureaucrats, I'd had enough bullying for one day. This was the last straw. She got very shirty. I stood my ground, told her to call the police if she liked, and refused to budge. Things got heated, and shouty. Finally, my friend, who was anxious to get home on this very foggy night, paid the extra and I simply paid my own itemised €29 bill. No doubt it will all get sorted out eventually. €8.50 is not much money to a group of 22 people, and the club will be investigating the incident. But the row ruined my night, I was absolutely furious and will never set foot in this restaurant again, not only because the food has deteriorated, or because they can't do their maths, but because the woman on the till was so completely, utterly obnoxious. Au revoir, madame.
