Three different stir fries and each had their own flavours and the plus was the excellent quantity and quality of vegetables in the dishes. The grandchild loved the curry puffs and the serve of jasmine rice was a lot more generous than the serves we got in Launceston. The bistro is unassuming from the outside and just opposite the Coles in Sandy Bay.We went again two nights later and had two dishes the same and two different ones - a green curry and the Pad Thai - the tofu and vegetable green curry was very nice. But unfortunately the children all found the Pad Thai a little too "funky" - that sweet sour fish sauce flavour. Not sure I'd get that one again.

I went here with 3 of my adult children for dinner. On first entering the restaurant I thought the decor was smooth and trendy but not Indian. Where are the typical murals or decorations and the Indian music? Hmmm,However the service was friendly and welcoming. A few dropsies during the night but they generated a chuckle.My daughters are vegetarians so they ordered dahl markani and kadai paneer. My omnivore son and I ordered lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala. All curries were excellent and fine specimens of the cuisine. We went skinny on rice and instead ordered garlic and mixed naan with mango pickles and raita. The naan was as expected and the pickles were sensational.Reasonably priced, fine food, good service and comfortable setting. Hard to go wrong.PS Sorry about the title. Do you remember Kamahl doing ads for Indian style food?

Arrived as a walk in on a Thursday night. Was pretty quiet as we were early. Ordered main Beef Masala with complimentary rice , Garlic nann and an entre of chicken tikka and shared. We ended up taking some home. Generous portions, very nice food and good service. Wine list was small but good choices available. Food and a couple of wines were $60 so pretty cheap. Premises are a wee bit daggy but great value for money overall.

We really enjoyed a range of dishes. If you eat Indian food you will recognise most of the dishes. Spice factor was not too high and the food was tasty. Staff were attentive and the place was full...so can't be all bad. Happy to go back.

Maybe because itâs head and shoulders above so many eateries that call themselves ârestaurantsâ.Constantly disappointed in the Hobart food scene but never here. As other commentators have said: 5/5 for service, food and ambience.I could add location, with the ability to park in Magnet Court and walk under cover from your car.

Overall a great experience the food is northern Indian style so thick or dry curry is the deal which is good for me personally. We enjoyed our meals which were served promptly. Wines were nice and reasonably priced. Service was a tad stern not very welcoming being honest. I would go again if in town.

Top venue that is always consistent and delivers on all fronts. Currently undergoing a substantial extension given its popularity, i suggest it will only get better. A wonderful and left field drink selection and fantastic array of food. The half price oysters between 3pm and 6pm are hugely popular and the potato salad is amongst the best going around.Awesome venue.

Great location in an old sandstone warehouse in the Salamanca precinct, nice ambience and antiseptically clean in the Japanese tradition.Food was very fresh and tasty, nicely prepared and efficiently delivered by the railway system.My wife, a vegetarian, was disappointed as there were no hot vegetarian options, and Hobart in winter can be rather cold. A strange oversight.

Was looking for something to eat and came across this place...WOW oh WOW!!Liliana and the Chef - what an awesome team... Not only did they make me feel like I was a queen (was dining solo) but their food and service is 100% on point...If you want excellent Japanese food, with a smile and to be made feel like you are the only one in the room - then come here. The atmosphere was electric, it was a Saturday night, tables were full, conversations were flowing and good vibes all around... I tried the:Edamame with Nori Salt - YUMMO!Tasmanian Scallops - Yolk - a little weird to get your head around - but OMG delightful!Tasmanian Octopus - YUMMO!Panko Crumbed Tofu - wow - my absolute favourite - mouth watering....Seaweed salad - yummyDessert - not big on Rhubarb, but lemon slice was niceThis is now my favourite place to eat - must book though, they have limited spots, but if you're flying solo - there's a special spot waiting for you... Just ask Lil, she'll make you feel like there's no one else in the room.Thank you guys - your food and hospitality is absolutely worth my extra $20 tip!! I went home full, and totally happy with the choice I made :-)

We were looking for somewhere to eat nearby and stumbled across this place, one of the only restaurants open on Easter Monday. We were so hungry and happy to eat anything but the food here far exceed our expectations. Truly delicious and authentic Indian food, fresh, delicious and spicy! Highly recommend visiting this one, even if you aren't around the corner! We recommend the Kashmiri Lamb Rogan Josh but everything we ate was so delicious. We'll definitely be back before we leave Hobart.
