Best American restaurants nearby. Discover the best American food in Quincy. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for American restaurants near you.. Perched on the bluffs overlooking the mighty Mississippi, Quincy's landmark architecture, dogwood-lined streets and rolling green parks tell of a long and tiered history. Its location on the border of Missouri made it an ideal station point for the Underground Railroad, once in the aid of Mormons and later helping African Americans flee the slave states. Now the city's history is evident in its historic districts, architecture, museums, parks and landmarks.

Sirloin is my favorite cut of meat. Imagine my surprise when I ordered this at a luxury steakhouse and got a "chopped sirloin" aka expensive hamburger. Should have sent it back but didn't want to make a scene in front of my companions. Menu should have made this distinction clear. Sides, salads, and appetizers were very good. Wait staff was excellent and bartender was a master at his craft.

The menu is unique for Quincy, especially the deserts. Very creative chef. Beef, poultry, pork, fish items on menu. Try the egg roll app. I find this restaurant is the best in town for fresh fish. Varies often depending upon what the chef can get in and how he prepares it....always creative and taste. The largest selection of bourbons and whisky/whiskeys in the area. Not a large place so might consider reservations. Service is attentive and friendly Plenty of parking on street in front and more in public lot behind restaurant

The Pier Restaurant

This restaurant is set up perfectly to take full advantage of the views of the Mississippi River. We loved that aspect of this dining experience. We arrived here on a Sunday early afternoon. They had the Sunday Brunch going on at that time. After reading other reviews we apparently could have ordered off the menu. Our server did not offer us that option. She just indicated we could go to the brunch. We probably would have selected that option anyway but it would have been nice to be fully informed and provided a menu had that been an option. The Sunday Brunch was a bit past its prime when we were there. The food had been setting a bit too long for it to be amazing. There were some items that were still pretty good. They had a very tasty tomato soup. The Prime Rib was very good. A little cooler than optimal serving conditions. The Salmon and chicken entrees were very good as well. Overall for the price we were not upset about the dining experience ($16.99 per person). Perhaps if we had ordered off the menu or arrived sooner we would be giving this place 5 stars. It still is a great place to sit and enjoy the views while you eat.Sorry the buffet was not kept fresher, this time of the year the slower season it harder to keep it good later in the day. I will take your information and make sure we stay on top of it better. Thanks for the kind review and remember the lunch menu is available Sundays most all the time.

My wife recommended this place for a nice dinner on a Saturday night. Sure didn't disappoint.Had drinks and just enjoyed the night. I ordered the Shrimp Kabobs and she had the Parmesan Crusted Salmon. Both excellent choices. Food was great. Service was OK, nothing spectacular. But, would definitely go back.

Kelly's Tavern

We enjoyed our meal here at the Tavern. We were in the area doing some sight seeing and chose this place for its Famous Salad Bar (at least that is what their web site says). We did enjoy the salad bar. They had three different types of green leaf salad options. They had multiple prepared salads as well. We really enjoyed their broccoli salad. The soup they are renowned for their Kelly's Cheese soup was not one of our favorites. Seemed a bit too processed cheese taste for our liking. They also had fried chicken wings on the salad bar which was a nice touch. The best part was the cinnamon rolls and desert offerings that accompanied the salad bar. For $8.99 the salad bar was not a bad deal for the quantity of food available. However it is an obstacle course getting to the salad bar. It is definitely tight quarters with all the tables and booths (not to mention servers) that have to be dodged to get your meal. The booth we were seated in was quite cramped and small for todays standards. This is a busy local Irish Pub. It is popular for sure. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. The only knock we have is the lack of space of the dining arrangements for four people and the obstacle course through a full restaurant to get to their Salad Bar. Still overall we would go back maybe at off peak dining hours to enjoy this place again when in the area.

I live in a city right across the river and somehow never knew about this place. The rustic atmosphere pairs perfectly with the comfort food offered on the menu. The pictures I took don’t do the food justice. The Mac and Cheese pictured was my choice of side and was filling on its own, and I loved that it was served in a mini cast iron skillet. It’s sometimes the little touches that make a good dining experience for me and mine. We’ll be back!

I've visited a few times and have either been disappointed at one end and non-plussed at the other. Their regular tea was so horrid I couldn't stand more than two sips and had to switch to Pepsi. Their food can be good but it's very hot and miss for me. I tried the place several times - bad days do happen. The fact is, though, that if someone suggests it, I'll make sure I have an alternative to counter with.Thank you for stopping in and for taking the time to leave feedback. I am very sorry we were unable to impress you during your previous visits. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so please know that we will take your feedback to heart and will always strive to improve. Our menu changes seasonally, so I hope you will give us another try as our Summer menu may be more to your liking. Tried BoodaLu’s for my mom’s 84th birthday, after reading several good reviews and we were not disappointed! Beautifully renovated building right on the river. The service from the moment we walked in, and throughout our meal was top notch. There were eight in our party so we had a variety of appetizers and ordered several different entrees. All were equally delicious. The smoked bone in pork chop, steaks, and shrimp over cheddar grits were equally enjoyed by all.
