Our family was looking for a place to have dinner in Zurich. We were about to sit down at an outdoor table for four at a nice restaurant on a busy Basel street but a woman cut in front of us and sat down, calling her husband to the table. No other table was available. So we opened up TripAdvisor and found that nearby 1777 had good reviews. We had some trouble finding 1777, not realizing it was set in a courtyard off the nearest street. As it turned out, the woman did us a favor because we loved the quieter but cheerful charm of 1777. Drinks, dinner and dessert were excellent and our waiter, Guy, was very friendly and attentive. We're glad we found this restaurant and will visit it again when we're in Basel.

We came here for dinner, and were very happily surprised by this restaurant. All ingredients were fresh, and the food was impressively inventive while maintaining a classic burger appeal.Everything was very flavourful and delicious. The service was fast, and the waitron was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. The portion sizes here are generous. The only slight drawback is that it is quite pricey all things considered, but definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
