We got off the freeway to get some gas...and made a wrong turn. I'm so glad we did because we were hungry too after driving for 4 hours. We stopped for dinner and it was some of the best food we've ever had. The service was great, the fire place was inviting (and boy was it cold out)....I'd drive 4 hours just to go here again!!

Everyone told us that they eat at the bowling alley, which sounded crazy to me. But we went and we'd go back! The food area is separated from the bowling area, so the atmosphere was better than we expected. However, it still lacked in personality. It was just a room with tables and chairs. The upside was the food, which was delicious. The BBQ bacon cheeseburger was delicious, as well as the onion rings. The steak wrap was juicy and delightful. The food is definitely worth a return trip.

My husband and I ordered from curbside takeaway last night and we were delighted with our delicious feast. The small steak, prepared perfectly medium rare for me, and lobster combo was plenty to eat and the price was excellent at $15.99. The Alice Springs chicken and coconut shrimp combo was very generous in serving size and my husband couldn't even eat it all. The seasonal veggies were hot, and the salad was fresh and full. Just an excellent meal like I expect from Outback!

While the restaurant is located in a nice area, parking is less than convenient. As far as I could tell there was no off-street parking for guests, which meant circling the block a few times to find a parking spot on the street. While our server was nice and gave me and my friends time to catch up and stuff, she wasn't very attentive at all. We ordered some cheese curds first but then disappeared for a bit not taking our order for dinner. My friend enjoyed the wings, and I loved my Trempealeau walnut burger, but again, the server seemed to forget about us as we needed napkins, water refills, etc. I recommend for the food but that's about it.Jenn, thank you so much for taking time to review us and let us know of your experience. We are very happy to hear that you liked the cheese curds, burger, and wings. Unfortunately it sounds like our service wasn't the best that day and we apologize. Please stop in again and let us show you this was hopefully an isolated issue. In addition, we have added 27 new parking spots within 100 feet of the restaurant to alleviate some of those parking issues. Thanks for the four stars and come back soon!

I had the brisket and boneless chicken wings .The brisket was good a little dry but tender,It’s tough keeping brisket moist period. The boneless chicken wings were ok .Next time I’ll go with the bone.My son Had the chicken wings with the bone .Good choice .they were tasty with the medium hot sauce. The drinks were free refills witch was good. The wait staff was attentive and returned to our table multiple times to check on us .My bill was about 32.00 bucks .Thats pretty cheap for two barbecue dinners .This is a chain restaurant,Everything is pre made and portion controlled. It wasn’t bad for the money.I guess if I was hungry for bbq I’d go back and try something else

We have eaten there many times over the years but I don’t think I have ever reviewed. The staff is very good. They are usually crazy busy but still manage to be on top of things every time we have eaten there! Most times have been for breakfast and have never had anything that wasn’t great. Also, one of the best Bloody Mary’s ever!!! This is a must when we visit La Crosse!!!

North Country Steak Buffet

Super friendly service and our steaks were PERFECT!! First visit for us and it did not disappoint. When the cashier heard it was our first time, she offered senior discounts, explained the process and made sure we would ask questions if needed. I have never been to an 'all you can eat' steak buffet. The salad bar had more than enough toppings, so the limited number of salad offerings was no big deal. There was still more than a half dozen other salad options, plus other entrees besides the steak...chicken, burgers, baked chicken, spaghetti, several kinds of taco meat with all the fixings and tasty desserts. Our plates were cleared quickly and the drinks were refilled before we needed them. I can see why people keep returning. Noticed that homemade pizza was available on Wednesdays, which if in town will definitely try. I do wish there was a little more space between the table and the booth seat, but no one else seemed to mind.

This place was a recommendation from the gal at a visitor's center in La Crosse. Was spot on. Although the bar area was busy with the Sunday game crowd , it was not noisy and very good service. We had a table by the window that we could see the water. Wished it wasn't raining as would have loved to be on their patio area.So happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us! We so appreciate the 5 star review. Thank you!
