The population was 3,001 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Douglas County and is adjacent to the town of Gardnerville. It was founded in 1906 by Heinrich Friedrich Dangberg Jr., who named it after the town of Minden, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which was near his father's birthplace. A large share of the first settlers were Germans. Minden was founded on company land of the Dangberg Home Ranch and Dangberg commissioned most of the town's early buildings. Minden has had a post office since 1906.

We were looking for a bit more up-scale restaurant and discovered Julio's. The tables are well-appointed with white linen tablecloths and very personable and efficient service. Many locals came in after we were seated and the easy camaraderie between the proprietor and the clientele was obvious. The menu is quite varied, including beef, lamb, seafood and salads. My wife's gluten-free needs were easily accommodated. We topped off our dinner with a gluten-free cheesecake flan. This restaurant will be well worth your visit.

We're local and meet friends here for lunch every Tuesday. This has been our custom for the last two-plus years and we've never had anything that wasn't outstanding. You know you're a regular when Renee knows what you're going to have as soon as you walk in the door! It's your typical small airport cafe with a good menu, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. We could easily go somewhere else, but we keep coming back... that should tell you how good it is!

If the original Chicago foodies, now of Nevada, take us to have Chicago style pizza we know it will be great! The pizza was definitely delicious and the service was excellent. Everything seemed fresh and the pizza was done with a crisp crust -- cut into squares the way they do it in the Midwest. I'm from the east coast so I love this thin crust and the little squares. Everyone should try this place.

My husband just finished a huge cheeseburger with bacon and a pile of wavy fries (yum) like we've never had before! The burger was on a toasted bun and cut in half to be manageable. As good as that was, I'm glad I had the hot Sicilian sandwich with the pasta salad. It was the best pasta salad that I ever had! The pepperoni in the sandwich gave it heat and the other meats gave the sandwich depth. It was so good, I didn't try to steal an extra wavy fry. The restaurant could use some atmosphere to match the food.

This place is amazing! I can't seem to step away from ordering the K2 sandwich, it is amazing. Lots of gluten free options, including sandwiches! Side salad is delicious too. Be sure to try the blended thai tea! Heads up, closes early and not open for dinner.

Small town, family run restaurant. People you don't know smile and say "Good Morning" and "How are you"? Patrons dining alone sit up along the bar and chat with each other. Food is delicious and plentiful. Had the Huevos Rancheros today and couldn't finish my breakfast, just like every other time I have had breakfast here. Restaurants like this seem to be fewer and fewer - and this one is a gem!

Seated fairly quick,they seemed to be a little busy.Beverage order was taken and brought quickly.My tea was refilled but not as frequent as it was empty but like I said they were busy.My beef sandwich was really good.Piles of beef smothered in an awesome brown gravy over bread.The mashed potatoes were whipped and had some of the best flavor.My Mom had a salad and soup and she thought they were both great tasting.The portions were huge and the prices very reasonable.We will be back.

Despite there being only a handful of tables taken, the service was terrible. 30 minutes after my salad, I started to look around because I thought they had forgotten my steak. Just then, it came...albeit undercooked and barely warm. I mentioned it to the server, who twice gave just a blank look...so even if it was mainly the kitchenâs fault, sheâs the communicator and never came close to voicing a âsorry.âWow. This is not our usual and we sincerely apologize. Please, if you don't mind, send an email to [email protected] letting us know the date you were in and the approximate time. Have eaten here a few times. The food seems to be pretty good each time and the full parking lot proves locals trust the service. Lots of seating inside and some outside as well. Always a friendly place to get a bite to eat or try some of their beers on tap. Large selection.

Typically we only eat breakfast here. But the new dinner menu was enticing enough to give it a try for dinner and we were not disappointed. First, our waitress, Shelly, was an absolute delight. The food, however, was a big surprise. I had the pork chop which was delicious. It was a huge bone in chop with a lovely smoky flavor served on a bed of Kale and fingerling potatoes with a nice compote on top. I also had the filet another night with a side of spinach. Although only 6 oz, it was flavorful and tender. The chicken breast dish was also excellent.Thank you so much for your lovely words!
