I always look forward to visiting high rated diners in small towns. This time it was a disappointment. The peppers in the omelette were the roasted kind from a can. First time I had them like that, I don't think they belong in an omelette. The coffee tasted burnt. Overall I would recommend skipping this one.

The Texas Lunch has been serving the best hotdogs and burgers in the Tri-State area since 1936. No one makes a better Texas style dog. End of story. Stop in today and try for yourself.

I had heard that the food was no longer the same, that the recipes had changed with the new owner. I'm glad I didn't listen to the rumors because it was fantastic! We had the Texas dogs and a burger with their famous sauce. Paired with a ice cold yoohoo it was perfection! Definitely will return

We stumbled on to this place while in Port Jervis. Stopped in got burgers and mashed potatoes. The burgers were very good, fresh and tasty. The mashed weren't that good. They seemed like real potatoes but even with gravy they had no taste. Everything was very reasonable and they had tons of variations of ice cream, burgers, chicken fingers and shakes. I definitely would go back but would skip the mashed. Fries looked good but didn't taste them. If your in the area you should check this place out.

Enjoyed breakfast there on a Thursday morning. Wasn't real crowded mid-morning; waitress was very pleasant. Mushroom and swiss omelet was huge and delicious, and the home fries were very good as well. Poached eggs were done perfectly. Our food took a bit longer to be cooked than at some of the other diners in the area, but the prices seemed about the same. Restroom could definitely use some upgrading. A cobweb by the ceiling in there wasn't too inviting. Would recommend parking in the lot around the side or backing in if parking up front since backing out from the front spots can be a little tricky if the traffic on the main road is heavy.

Perkins is the breakfast location to go to. Upon entering, we were greeted, and brought to our table. Our server introduced herself and brought our requested drinks. The menus offered many different breakfast items with photos showing the items. The hard part is picking the right one because they all look so good. I chose a combo with eggs and pancakes. The meal delivery time was fine and the size of the platter was sufficient. Our server placed a tray containing three types of syrup for the pancakes. My breakfast was prepared and displayed well, and tasty. The food was very good, service was excellent, and the location was clean. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Our first time eating here and we were impressed by our server, Kami. She had such a bubbly personality. I asked her for a recommendation. She liked the Turkey Reuben and after tasting it, I loved it. My wife found the haddock sandwich equally good. A WONDERFUL restaurant!

Tried the special of Stuffed Chicken Breast Saltimboca, and it was very good - artfully arranged and stuffed with spinach, a little garlic, cheese, red peppers, and prosciutto over a delightful demi-glaze sauce. Came with a salad or soup of the day, choice of starch, and a mixed veggie of green and wax beans, squash, etc. ($18.95). A bit expensive, but good and interesting. The bread basket that comes with all dinners is still the best around and includes white Italian bread, cinnamon bread, and spice bread...... Ahhhhh. Be sure to try it. You won't be sorry. French Onion soup remains the best we've ever had in the tri-state area ($5.95, I think), and the chicken quesadilla appie ($7.95) was good as well. Full bar with several interesting craft beers is always appreciated. Server was very pleasant. Wasn't too crowded around 5 p.m. on a Sunday.

I had the salmon. Fish was fine but the carrots were originally frozen and lacked texture and flavor. Service was very good.Extensive menu to choose from. Atmosphere was interesting and we were lucky to hear some live folk music.

The look of the restaurant from the outside gives more of an upscale impression. The inside was very casual and welcoming. The bar is not too big so we sat at a table, usually we prefer eating at the bar. The table area was very well decorated but lacked table cloths. It was a mid week visit so maybe things get more formal on weekends. Either way the food was really very good and nicely priced. Menu has great choices and portions are generous. Yes in the area I would mark this as one of my favorite dinner places.
