Discover Restaurants offering the best American food in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. Pennsylvania Dutch country is a fascinating destination to explore. Visitors will get a glimpse of farm life as it was in the early 1800s. Visit markets and farm stores for homemade shoofly pie and fresh produce, or shop for a handmade quilt. President James Buchanan's elegant home, Wheatland, is no less historic but contrasts sharply to the simpler Pennsylvania Dutch heritage sites in Lancaster. Consider a side trip to nearby Hershey, home of Hershey Park and the Hershey chocolate factory.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and it is always wonderful. My husband tried something off their "Oktoberfest" menu, I got a wonderful salad, our daughter got the crab cake sandwich, and our daughter's boyfriend got ther meatloaf off the special menu. Alll four of us enjoyed our meals.

While overall this was not a bad experience we have many places in Lancaster we have meals that are better. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail was not cold, the vodka was mistakenly made into a martini, and three scallops in the entree cannot be considered generous. Although we did not ask for the error to be removed from our bill it would have been a nice gesture of hospitality.

Didn’t like that the hotel was so far from the main center of everything. There was a mistake when booking. We were suppose to be in a king bed, and idk if we were early or late for the check in but they had changed the room number with white out. I feel they gave the room with king bed away. There was a guy at night that was very very nice, however the girls during the day were not helpful at all.Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to understand where we failed to meet your expectations! I will pass your comments along to hotel management so that we can learn from our shortcomings. Thanks!

We went here for my birthday dinner and both ordered the Grand Dinner Buffet featuring prime rib. The food overall was excellent. The Items we tried that were okay were the crab bisque, the broccoli cauliflower mixture (mushy, and the tiramisu. I would have given Arthur's a 5 if the staff when they were not busy did not congregated around the Hostess station and got a little loud sometimes. The offerings for the night we ate there were dilled potatoes, tri-colored pene pasta with terragon cream sauce, mushroom stuffed chicken breast, and tilapia. This is now oner of my favorite places to have prime rib. Our server was very goodWe will go back. Just to let you know parking can sometimes be a problem.

First timer here for breakfast and liked what I saw: small, cozy restaurant, friendly & accommodating wait staff, clean and an extensive breakfast menu, average prices. Food came out very quickly, serving sizes were average, not huge and the food didn’t come out as hot as it could. The homemade corned beef hash was fabulous, the eggs and bacon were good but average. The addition of tomato slices to my platter instead of toast and home fries, as per my request, was honored and very good. My wife’s eggs and potatoes mix was excellent. She said it had a better than average taste. Overall a nice breakfast. Think we’ll return and try dinner.

The atmosphere is quiet, but trendy full of wood and earthy tones and dim lighting. Unique floral lights surround the bar like teaky torches. The menu is full of craftmade cocktails and the air is full of jazz. Very relaxed spot with it's own parking garage as it's part of a hotel. To drink, I recommend "feeling blue?", but I subbed the gin for vodka. It's mildly sweet and delicious. I ordered a couple of favorites from the small plate menu and had the surf n turf (aka beef carpaccio with thinly sliced scallops), which was delicious. The herbed vinagerette was more like a vinagerette pesto that had just the right bite and thick in consistency. As a second course, I ordered the shrimp and grits. Being from the South, this was unlike anything I had ever had. It was more shrimp and veggie, than shrimp and grits. It was wonderful! Seasonal veggie was corn, cream beans, zucchini, and spinach. Everything was so fresh! The grits were delicious and had a larger grain with a nutty flavor. Cooked with cream and a white wine beurre blanc, there was no need for the cheddar typically accompanying this classic. On top of the food, service was great! The menu is limited, but to me, that means easier decisions. If you're picky, not the place for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend. Just here traveling for work.

In a place best known for all-the-average-food-you-can-eat, fine dining does exist and it's at The Belvedere Inn. There, the hit all the targets, a warm, inviting atmosphere, great food and excellent service. First the place. It's a 19th century townhouse near the center of Lancaster that has been converted into a restaurant and bar but has kept many of the features of a luxurious Victorian town home. The bar is subdued and private and was spookily decorated for Halloween when we visited. The other dining rooms are welcoming with lots of wood and fireplaces lit with candles. It isn't loud and it is a place where you would like to linger awhile. Our server, Lindsey, looked more like an actress than a server, with a warm smile and lots of suggestions about her favorites when we asked. She was attentive and very pleasant throughout our meal. We selected two wines by the glass from an extensive wine list and started our meal with a Lindsey suggested, specialty of the house...lobster bisque. It was delicious with a taste of sherry and bits of lobster filling the bisque. Next came our entrees, a grilled cod served with root vegetables and break-with-a-fork short ribs of beef. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. After another suggestion from Lindsey, we ordered the house special apple tart in honor of the season. It was served with ice cream and was a great ending to an excellent dining experience.

We are staying in Lancaster for a quick weekend and wanted to go somewhere for dinner that had actual parking, not street parking! Gibraltar is right down the street from our hotel. We walked in and the atmosphere was inviting and clean. We sat up at the bar because all tables were booked up, but the service was excellent. Very friendly bar tenders and they were very fun to watch make drinks! The food was absolutely incredible. They had a few specials for the evening and a small but cohesive menu. I got bacon and corn chowder, which was a special, followed by the lobster fettuccine. That was out of this world! We were enticed by a special strawberry short cake for dessert which was incredible!! Overall, a totally unexpected and delicious experience. I’d recommend this to anyone in the area. Jut be aware, this is definitely an adult atmosphere, kids would have issues finding something to eat!Kvfarbman,Thank you for your review, we are looking forward to serve you soon again. :)
