A late lunch in a nice little find on Main Street in the heart of Downtown Saco. Small but inviting with booths and tables. Server was quick and friendly. Food was delicious and hot off the griddle for a very reasonable price. Lots if shops nearby to walk off all that deliciousness!

New Moon Restaurant

Since moving to Saco, I've been trying out new restaurants and decided to have lunch at the New Moon. I ordered a cup of the French Onion soup and the Thai chicken salad, which is a signature salad of theirs. The salad was great, with a wonderful seasoning and several slices of marinated chicken, and the portion was ample. I was a bit disappointed that thbe French onion soup didn't have the customary broiled cheese on top, which to me is one of the best things about French onion soup. I commented on it and the chef said he includes a side grilled piece of bread with melted cheese instead. Other than that, the food was very good, service was friendly, and prices were reasonable for the portions and food quality and preparation. The breakfast and brunch items look REALLY good, great selection.

Tried this place for the first time today. It was amazing! The have several types of eggs Benedict along with your regulars breakfast fare. They also serve crepes, breakfast sandwiches, and a wide variety of omelets. I ordered the veggie Benedict and it’s the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauce was amazing, not salty, and very flavorful. All the ingredients were fresh. My daughter had toast with her omelet and it was homemade sourdough, nice, thick, and tasty. The home fries were done just right and perfectly seasoned. I will definitely go again. They also serve lunch.

Not that the food isn’t good, it is simply not worth the “fixed price” dinner menu for $58.I would recommend checking this place out with a trip to the bar and perhaps enjoying a small plate there.

We traveled to Maine for our first time ever and got lucky that this restaurant was right across the way from our hotel and we couldn’t have been happier! Great service and our waiter was even more amazing! I would recommend the lobster claw 100% and if possible request Andrew, his service was stellar and he was an all around genuine person, plus if your traveling around for the first time he has great tips :)

I got their 'famous' inexpensive grilled sirloin with garlic butter and a side dish of mashed potatoes for $6.00. The steak's flavor was good, but it was a tough piece of meat (you get what you pay for). The mashed potatoes looked like instant ones and were served lukewarm. The Guinness was good. The atmosphere is historic brick, big bar, pool tables, lots of dining space, but very little charm. I was also surprised that they don't offer fish and chips, which is a staple of an Irish restaurant. Prices may be cheap, but I'd rather pay more and have quality. Rating: average at best.

I'm not a great fan of biscuits in general, but the biscuits here are really good! I like the restaurant's atmosphere -- lots of space, nice decor -- but the plastic utensils were surprising. For a brick-and-mortar place that people dine in, there should be regular silverware. Besides seeming tacky, plastic isn't the greatest for cutting meat or buttering biscuits. Otherwise, I thought the food and service were very good and the prices were reasonable for some items, a little high for others.Hi NHjo, We're so glad you enjoyed our food and atmosphere - thanks for the rewiew! The location on Porpoise Cove is away from the throngs of downtown Kennebunkport. The food, the service the view were all excellent. The clam chowder was delicious, as was the salmon salad. We enjoyed Andrea, our waiter from Serbia. He was very solicitous. It has the same menu as the restaurant downstairs that was much more casual and not as nice. We made the right choice.
