Nice place

Breakfast selection was good with a very nice lady working in there. Room was okay, but a bit over priced. Decent location near shops and restaurants. Not too far from Lake Michigan and Downtown Benton Harbor.

Not the room we reserved

Reviewed By 22juleeb

The hotel itself is pretty nice and clean. My kids liked the pool and the indoor/outdoor hottub. The fitness center was small but nicer than most hotel fitness center. The restaurant was OK and with very limited hours (but we were there in late March). We booked a family suite because we needed the separate bedroom, but ended up with an accessible suite and we were told that we couldn't switch rooms (which we requested as soon as we saw the bathroom). It had an accessible shower which was even with the bathroom floor so water got everywhere (we have kids, which is why we got the family suite). There was also no way to stand under the water the shower unless you were sitting in the shower chair. There was very little water pressure. We've stayed in campgrounds with nicer showers. There is one towel rack for a room that can fit 6 people. It sounds nit picky but lack of space to hang things up is one of my biggest issues with some hotels. There was no where to hang Towels or swimsuits. The closet only had a bar too low to hang most things. There was a light that stayed on if you opened the closet door. There was also a light in the bathroom that never went off. There was no mirror in the bedroom. The location was good but that room was definitely not worth what we paid for (and it wasn't the room we reserved).

Four Winds Watchout

Reviewed By parcvue

We have stayed at the Four Winds several times and for the most part have enjoyed our one night experience. The hotel facility is nice, the Cooper Rock Restaurant is nice and the gaming area is large and fun. One my most recent stay the hotel room was worn, the carpet stained and the front desk unfriendly. The casino bars are using plastic cups - which is cheesy fora $10 drink. Cooper Rock is nice but lacks the professionalism of the staff that we use to enjoy. The overall experience is watered down post COVID.

Nice size room n comfy furniture

Reviewed By ljretires

We were greeted by very nice person. Found out they had pool but we didn’t use it. When we came back inside with our suitcases we noticed they had a outside fire pit and barbecue grill. It was surrounded by a wall for a little privacy. Room was nice and roomy. It had a couch which was comfortable so was the bed. There was a desk with a partition that would block the light from where the bed was. The TV was in a weird spot. Refrigerator had no freezer compartment but they did have ice maker. We were on the second floor. Shower nice but towels were rough n small. The AC or heating unit was very noisy. Rugs were clean. They had a safe in the closet. Even had a shelf above AC unit.

Horrible nightly disruptions

Reviewed By Kenthecarman06

Very disappointed. PEOPLE BEWARE! There are active nightly trains here. Stayed 2 nights, Friday and Saturday and each night was woken up @ 2:30 am by a train conductor blowing his horn. I explained my displeasure upon checking out and was told(verbatim) " I will let the gm know, but we can't control the train schedule."(with a very smug attitude). I replied, I understand that, but you can also be transparent and let guests know, nightly disruptions are not uncommon due to frequent train activity. No where upon booking reservations was this me tioned. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, turned into a non-sleeping exhausting weekend. And then not to be offered any kind of discount or apology for this issue. People, please be aware before you stay here!!!!!!!

A nice place to visit

Reviewed By 4Hfriend

I had a two night stay here with family members. The location was great--a two mile straight shot from the hotel to the main shopping/restaurant area and the beach. It is across the street from the lake. There was an indoor pool which we did not use. The breakfast bar was well stocked and had some hot dishes as well as the usual items. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here on a return trip to St. Joseph.

Shocked at how bad it was

Reviewed By Amy G

I had thought that the fact it's a Radisson hotel would make it at least halfway decent, but boy was I wrong. The only good thing about it was that the employees that we interacted with were nice. Other than that, the room was a huge disappointment. 1) The floorboards creaked horribly. We tried not to move around too much, out of concern with whoever may have been below us (we were on the second floor). 2) The room was dark. Usually not a problem - and often a benefit when trying to sleep - however, when trying to get ready to leave in the morning, the room was quite dim. Only one light on the wall, near the window (which wasn't all that prominent or giving off much natural light), a couple of lamps & that was it. 3) I know I just said the room was dark, but after switching off the lights and the tv to go to sleep, the bright light of the hallway shone in from a huge gap along the bottom of the door. Not bad if one needs a nightlight, I suppose, but not something we found all that enjoyable. 4) There was a dead bug on the floor. Made us wonder if the room had been vacuumed at all between guests. It looked like some sort of a beetle. 5) The wallpaper near the ceiling in the corner of the room above the bed was peeling off. 6) There was a large chunk missing from the granite (?) countertop in the bathroom. 7) There was a smudge of dirt (or poo...didn't really want to investigate that closely) near the top of the shower curtain inside the tub/shower. 8) The room was annoyingly humid, even with the air conditioner running. 9) One of the towels in the bathroom was dirty looking. A dingy grey colour instead of the bright white/bleached towels. Needless to say, we didn't use that one. 10) Most all of the furniture was either stained, dinged up, missing parts of the veneer or vinyl. 11) The metal door jambs were rusted. I could go on, but I think this is enough. I was shocked at the condition of the room. The lobby seemed fine (we didn't stay for breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but I did glance into the room and it seemed clean enough) and the ladies we interacted with upon checking in and checking out were pleasant, but the rest of our experience there was definitely sub par. We didn't expect anything like the Four Seasons, but seeing as it's a chain hotel, we thought it would at least be clean and not seemingly falling apart. Had we not been exhausted when we arrived, we'd have likely checked out as soon as we saw the room and gone to another hotel (there are a few in the area on the other side of the highway). Definitely do NOT recommend.
