Made reservations for Easter dinner while we were out in the Frankische Schweitz checking out the Easter fountains. I liked the trip advisor recommendations and thought we'd check it out. The service was good but the food was better! The venison schnitzel was amazing. My wife's roasted lamb and my mother in law's Horse Radish Roulade were amazing as well. Dessert was a huge strawberry cream puff. Prices were very reasonable. Nice locale. Friendly staff. Recommend a visit.

We did the Bärenschlucht walk, starting from the tourist office. Stopped for a drink in Wildmanngesees just after the Bärenschucht. The first part goes through the woods above the road, the second part goes through woods and fields and then back down through the village. Took us about 2 hours, nice family walk.

You better be hungry if you come to this restaurant! The servings are huge and the food is fantastic. They even have a table where a group can cook their own meal, I imagine that would need to be booked in advance. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, despite this being the low season they were very busy on the weekends. They have a great selection of beers and wine too.

This restaurant incorporates all of the positive things one could review about proper German food. Hufeisen offers a wide variety of their own beer made in the brewery located in the same house. The beer is also available for purchase, it has an excellent taste. The service was friendly and the food I received was well made. I ordered a Schaeufle which offers a fair portion and satisfies the tiered hiker. The restaurant itself is located more or less in the centre of Pottenstein and is in a medieval style house which adds to the cozy atmosphere.

This pool is beautiful. Great location, lots of grassy areas to lie in the sun, the restaurant is basic but good, free parking.

Nicht nur für die Kayak Fahrer auf der Wisent ein beliebter Mittagsstopp, sondern auch für Wanderer und andere Ausflügler. Sehr schöner Biergarten direkt am Fluss, im Hintergrund rauscht das Wehr. Das Angebot in Selbstbedienung besteht aus verschiedenen Brotzeiten der Region : Presssack, Göttinger, köstliches Brot und frisches Bier vom Fass! Selbstgemachter Kuchen und Kaffee. Das perfekte Ausflugsziel mitten in der Natur!

Hi traveler, Had a wonderful time we spent at this restaurant which is just on the main street and easily accessible at Pottenstein. The surrounding area of this restaurant is so beautiful that I couldn't imagine. Food is simply delicious and service is excellent. Actually, we had a booking earlier and Restaurant owner is simply waiting to welcome us on arrival - it's really wonderful and noticeable. Well, I tried Italian Spaghetti along with healthy dressed salads and potato smash which is mouthwatering and very delicious. Oh! the famous 'Waizen' draft beer is really refreshing. Thanks to the restaurant management for extending delicious food :)

Perfect place to have a fish dinner with friends and family after an exciting day in the beautiful Pottenstein landscapes. Just while reading restaurant menu you already imagine, how good and tasty the dishes are - and the expectation justifies by the time when everything is on the table. Big portions, good garnishes and excellent fresh-cooked fish (especially trout!) make you look forward to the next visit to this restaurant.

You get more than you expect and pay less. You will not be disappointed if you like Schnitzel and other pork variations, Sauerkraut and Klösse! Not to recommend for vegetarians...
