We came with my wife's (German) cousin and their close friends after a private vineyard / wine tour with Volker. What an amazing day! The meal at the close of our time together was superb and the atmosphere, though it was quite cold outside, with the fire blazing was idillic. Marvelous place!

I have enjoyed the experience in this restaurant. The service is formal and to the right level, at times slow. Only one person can take orders, the other just brings the food..so when you need something you need to wait. The food is pretty goid, the menu is limited but I rather have smaller choice and better quality. Certainly worth to go as you eat in a castle.

It was a hot evening and we sat outside. Although the outdoor seating area is quite close to the road, it's not too noisy. We'd done a lot of cycling and the lads were hungry and thirsty. Time to tuck into to solid German food. I wasn't too hungry so chose Flammkuchen spezial from the "fuer den kleinen Hunger" section, not knowing what Flammkuchen was. When it arrived, it looked like a pizza without the tomato sauce layer and was huge. Very tasty and I ate most of it. One of the lads had Schweinhaxe mit Sauerkraut and the other had Schwabenpfaennle (pork medallions, Maultasche and Spaetzle with cream sauce). Real man food. They were delighted with themselves. The service was good - very attentive but not intrusive. Three decent meals, two pitchers of the dark beer, and a small Weizen came to â¬57.60. Very reasonable.

We chose the Ratskeller based on reviews, and it did not disappoint! The staff was friendly, intelligent, customer-focused and fun. The food was excellent (we had lovely starters, schnitzel and sauerbraten mains, sorbet and a lovely local wine). The restaurant is pretty- it was a hot night and sitting outside after 7 pm was perfect. We will definitely return the next time were in Heilbronn.

We went to this restaurant for our first dinner in Bad Wimpfen . I opted for the conventional Schnitzel whereas my wife opted for something which had a german title that we did not understand. When we asked the waitress what it was in our mangeled german , she asked the other diners how to describe it in english . Pretty well everyone there had an opinion and a lady nearby came up the the group consensus "Beef Salad". It turned out to be a good choice and after that we had different people coming by to practice their english and ask about our country ( New Zealand). A good night with both the food and the company

Terrible. I went there for dinner yesterday. Restaurant very tired and not well cleaned. Their menu says "This is not McDonalds, please be patient if your food takes time, we cook it freshly for you". Well, I ordered, heard the microwave buzz, binged after 3 minutes, and an overheated meal arrived on a plate. Can you believe it, they used microwaved rice and microwaved a pre-cooked meal! Disgusting and overpriced. McDonalds is better. The waitress was sitting at the other table with her laptop on the internet. I had my laptop with me and needed to send some emails out. I asked if I could use the WLAN connection. She said "NO!". So what about this internet they advertise in their marketing? No, more lies. AVOID this place. Dreadful. And look at the photos. All taken 20 years ago. Imagine a place not refurbished for 20 years. On the plus side, the toilets were clean.

We had lunch here on the last weekend of June. We noticed how busy it was and glanced at the dessert offerings. We were hooked.The staff were pleasant, attentive and welcoming. The environment was excellent, outside on a beautiful day with a very picturesque village. While busy the restaurant was not crowded. The table beside were enthusiastically eating the daily special.We tried a variety and we're very pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste. Fresh, genuine flavours, not over spiced or salted.The desert I had was just excellent. We spoke with owners and she advised the receipt had been in their family for over 100 years. The pie was a thing of beauty. Tart, not too sweet, firm, with custard likeBase between pieces of freshly cooked rhubarb all on a twin layer pastry she'll topped with the best meirange I have ever had.

Right off the main reception is the small restaurant for breakfast. But the breakfast is not small or limited. Lots of hot and cold choices with attentive service to keep things stocked and clean. Eggs, cereals, buns, breads and meats to meet all tastes. And they were of excellent quality. The hot water dispensor for the tea looks like the Tukish Tea design with a tea pot on top, but in our case was only hot water with a dozen choices of teas to make the one you liked. Well done.Since we had a wedding the night before, it was a buffet in the main hall, which also showed the kitchen does a geat job on the dinner menus too.

This Restaurant is not like Any Other Restaurant i was before. It is a rebuilt barn. The light is dimed and warm because of candles. The furniture is wooden nevertheless comfortable. The meals are simple but extremly delicious. My favourite meal is schnitzel served in a pan with roasted potatoes and a small salad.
