a good restaurant, polite staff and excellent franconian specialities at reasonable price. in summer they open a nice terrasse facing the basilica. a good option to eat while in gossweinstein.efficient and polite staff.

Service: Quick and very attentive young waiter, e.g. we were instantly brought pencils and something for our two young children to colour in. Drinks arrived one minute after ordering.Food: Impressively fat-free schnitzel, chips/fries/pommes, bratwuerste, etc. Potato salad as good as made at home. Tasty and portions not too large. No complaints.Surroundings: Sat inside due to threatening rain-showers. Very stale smell. Beer garden looked good if the weather would be better.Main complaint: The table next to the entrance (from the beer-garden) was used as an office by the (presumaby) owner and his wife. On the table were a stale glass of something (water?), a newspaper, and a telephone. The man just sat at the table and scowled at the customers. At least his wife moved around, but her facial expressions were much the same.Overall: Good food, good service, so what do you want? .. Welcoming atmosphere, perhaps?

A large group of us finished climbing kind of late and no restaurants in the area were willing to take us. We called Rossi's which was actually closed then after thinking about how hungry we were called us back and let all 12 of us in and fed us amazing pork and potato dumpling dishes and even accommodated the vegetarians with great pizza and salads! Thank you so much for taking us in and providing best German meal I had on my trip! Dankeschön

First of all, this is not one of the local Franconian restaurants and you won't get a pork knuckle here. But this is a place to sit, have a couple of drinks, eat a burger, spend some time.I was really positively surprised of the relaxed atmosphere as well as the food. Ok, about food. I'd personally steer away from the so-called pizza and take the burger instead. Maybe it says something that we were in the town for 4 days and ate here twice.

We were there on a Sunday mid day and space was tight. We had several different roasts (Braten) and each were good. Plenty of gravy and a large dumpling. The waitressed were quite busy. Not "great" but "good".

We had the five-course dinner with accompanying wines and were impressed by the food and the selected wines. Not only was it fresh and tasty, the wines fitted the food perfectly. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive although they seemed to have a shortage of personell that evening - we didn't notice, though. We're already planning on returning to this wonderful restaurant.

My German friends brought me to this place for dinner after visiting a cathedral in the village of Grossweinstein. Zur guten Einkehr is also a guesthouse. But we did not stay there for the night. The restaurant has a large indoor dining area. But, if the weather is right, sit outdoor for drinks and food. We did just that. The property has several huge outdoor sitting sections. Food was impressively prepared and presented. It also offers a huge selection of fine wines from the nearby vineyards.

I ate here with 10 friends and the restaurant was full which accounted for the food taking 45 minutes to prepare. The menu is the normal schnitzel type with no roasts at all. The food was over spiced especially concerning the amount of salt used. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the reason for the long waiting time concerning the drinks was because there were 2 new trainees and it was their first evening. I am sure the food and drinks were not up to standard was because of these reasons. As I have eaten here before and was quite satisfied I am sure this evening was an exception. Try the New Years eve meal as it is exceptionally good but book up well beforehand.

Our family of 7 came for lunch on Father's Day, which is celebrated Mid-May in Germany. We were seated right away with reservations and a pleasant server kindly took our order. While all the food was absolutely delicious, I found the service slightly unprofessional for European standards. The waitress forgot to serve my asparagus soup. It was brought out quite a while after I called it to her attention and plunked down without an apology. Other than that we had a great lunch with traditional German dishes such as Schnitzel and baked Scholle (a seasonal freshwater fish). A good experience overall.
