For the $$ we paid for this room it is a shame how disappointing our one night stay was. Stayed in room 3303 and upon entry we noticed a water bottle on the night stand. No biggie tossed it in the trash. However as the night went on we noticed more and more things but too tired/too late to move rooms. Housekeeping did not fully clean or restock the room after the previous guests. - Empty water bottle on table - Food left in fridge - Ice bucket full of water - No coffee cups, stir straws, creamer etc...but they did have the coffee pods which were useless. - Food chunks on floor up against the bed. When we turned down covers noticed a couple items. Suggest vacuuming up against the side of the bed base. - Only two towels and washcloths in the room. We booked a double queen suite. So there was four of us. I feel a suite should at least have four towels to start the day off. Had to go to the desk for more. - During my son's shower we found out there was no body wash or conditioner in the bottles bolted to the shower wall. The shampoo had very little in the bottle. Another trip down to the front desk for mini bottle that were not great quality. This was very frustrating as again when turning over the room from the previous guest items such as this should have been checked and replaced. - We didn't turn on the heat until at 9:30PM when putting the kids down. Well it never got warm at all. Turned it up to 75, then 80 and then to the highest setting 90 and the heat never increased. It just blew cool air. I knew our only choice was to change rooms and we had to be up at 5:30AM and I didn't feel like pulling the kids out of bed who were now asleep and move everything to a new room. So I took the extra towels we got from the front desk and used them as blankets for the kids. Not ideal but it helped some. - The breakfast was pretty good however the juice machine did not work as it was only dispensing water for every selection. Seems as if it just needed to be refilled. I asked the attendant about it and she had no idea how to add more juice and said I guess it's just broke and offered coffee/milk. This was at 7AM when they first opened so I feel like it probably ran out the day before and was never refilled. I did complain to the front desk and she wrote the items down and said she would pass along. Really no apology or anything and I wonder if she even did relay the compliant to housekeeping and maintenance. Just very disappointing hotel stay as we just came from a Holiday Inn in PA that was outstanding and this I felt like what a waste of our money. I suggest to pick a different hotel in the area until COVID is over and there staff feels like working again to make your stay comfortable.

I have stayed at many hotels in my years, but I have never had a staff that was so helpful. My husband and I have driven from North Carolina we were so exhausted from the drive and the front desk clerk made sure we had a room on the main floor since both my husband and I are disabled. When we were going to our room and this gentleman from the hotel opened our door had me sit down and he helped to bring our luggage in the room and made sure we had everything we needed before he left. If you are ever in the Auburn Hills area of Michigan this is the hotel that will make your stay enjoyable.

PROs Room was massive 2 full bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms living room and full kitchen. Was impressed with room set up. Beds were very comfortable and towels were big and fluffy. Location was excellent and was in safe area. Good lighting outside. Hotel was quiet. CONS: Took forever to check in due to their "new system". I didn't realize that there was 2 Sonesta hotels a mile apart and only one had a indoor pool. When I realized that the one we were staying at only had a outdoor pool. I asked hotel staff if we could take the kids to other hotels pool she said "I don't know". So I drove to other there to ask and was told "no". I had 2 very disappointed boys and the pool was biggest reason why we book a hotel for this mom and sons weekend trip. The breakfast was only served till 8:30am which seemed pretty darn early and only had vegetarian options. Hall ways smelled like weed and our dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and running when we checked in at 5pm. There were crumpled up papers under the coffee table which was a oversized stool. Soap dispenser in the shower was empty. Over all disappointed for the big price tag.

The room was very clean and the service was outstanding. Jessica at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. This stay was everything I’d expect at a Hyatt Place. It was in a good location, very centrally located, but it a quiet area. I’d definitely stay here again!

Enjoy a comfortable and convenient setting at Sonesta Select Detroit Auburn Hills, a modern and relaxing hotel in Auburn Hills, Michigan near DTW Energy Music Theatre, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Detroit and Great Lakes Crossing Outlets.
I stayed here for 3 nights, it was a last minute thing, after the nightmare that is the Baymont across the parking lot. Rooms were clean, staff was great, the only thing that I could possibly find fault with is the lack of a breakfast buffet. Other than that, it was an amazing stay!

We booked 2 rooms from 5/14-5/18. The ads show a beautiful outdoor pool. It was not. The pool was left sadly untended and slime green. They claim the pool is closed due to COVID. Nowhere on the Choice site does it say the pool is closed. They just use the lame disclaimer that some services may be unavailable due to COVID. However, no other COVID protocols were observed by staff. No masks. Cutlery in breakfast area was crammed in holders so that people would have to touch the "eating" ends instead of just the handles to get the plasticware. The breakfast was the same every morning. The rooms were showing their age. The tub had been repainted and the paint was peeling off. There was mildew in the tub around the spout and at the caulk joints. There were only 3 towels for a 2 queen bed room. No spare TP. Our last night there was no hot water in the evening or the next morning.

A one night stay at Embassy. This hotel starts to show its age. The front desk was friendly and did offer the welcome package (water & popcorn) but was not offered for any upgrade, even I have a Diamond status. The first room assigned was smoky and needed to reassign to another room. Another room was much better, at least there was no cigarette smell. Unfortunately, I found a used Q-tip on the bathroom floor. Note - Embassy does not provide Q-tip as an amenity. After cleaning the room (I did ask front desk to give me a clean sheet and pillow case), I have couple minutes to do the evening reception before dinner. Due to the cleaning, I was super thirsty so I requested 4 cokes (since I have two vouchers and the voucher said two alcohols). Anyway, the attendant refused to serve and stated only one per person. Another lady at the other end overheard the conversation, she even helped me to question the attendant why can I get 4 cokes for 2 vouchers. The night was uneventful. The sleep was good. Everything seems to be fine. At 8:30 AM, I went to have breakfast and found out that there was only three plates left. I was lucky enough to get one as there was no more plates since then. I saw some guests were using paper plates. As for the food, it was ok in the beginning. I grabbed some breads, fruits, and yogurts. Since there was a long line for omelets, I decided to take something light in the beginning and then went back for a second round. Did I make a mistake. When I went back for a second, I found that there was no bread, no fruit, no yogurt, no french toast, no pancake. The line for omelet was even longer than before. I simply gave up and had an early lunch instead. In sum, nothing too remarkable; nothing too horrible. Does it worth the cost I paid? No. But it did serve its purpose.

We are Choice Diamond members and have stayed at many Choice hotels. Several of the last ones that we have stayed at have not been up to Choice standards but this one is one of the worst. We were booked for 4 nights but checked out after the 1st night. Went to another Choice in the area that was better but not ALOT. We were traveling with family and there room wasn’t any better. Front desk clerk was friendly. Lobby area was clean and inviting. Stepped into hall and it all changed. Carpets were heavily soiled in and outside of room, furniture was old, stained and in disrepair. 1/2 used complimentary shampoo and conditioner with used washed cloth still in shower.( Had them take care of that). Shower head would not attach, it was held in the lower grab bar. Shower curtains were filthy! Beds were more like mattress pads, thin and you could feel the springs. Curtains were torn and dirty. Air didn’t work well. Outside of hotel looked like it was possibly undergoing a remodel. Felt like I was staying at a old road side crack motel.
