Reviewed By 472jenpMy family and I were having a perfectly fine time until some folks who weren’t guests of the hotel came into the pool area. An older women, her adult son and grandson came into the pool deck area from the beach. The woman began vaping large puffs of whatever is in a vape pen. I let her know that vaping wasn’t allowed in the pool area, but she argued that she had been there many times and it wasn’t a rule. After enduring an ongoing vapor cloud I went in and requested that front desk inform her, which they did. As soon as FD walked away the woman became belligerent towards me and soon her adult son joined in yelling at me to “mind my f—ing business” and also used some explicit bigoted remarks regarding my identity as lgbtq that I can’t post here. The young man was very aggressive and left through the side gate but returned within a few minutes and walked back to the indoor pool to retrieve his child’s toy. He stopped to engage in conversation with 2 Doubletree maintenance employees for several minutes shaking hands and laughing and talking together before leaving. My wife felt totally unsafe and we went upstairs after that because of how agitated this guy was and how easily he accessed the pool area. The access points of the pool aren’t secured except for on one side. FD informed me that these people weren’t guest but had only paid to park for beach access. I followed up with management about the incident and got excuses and applies but unsatisfactory overall experience. I won’t be returning to this property nor any other Hilton hotel because of the lack of safety and security and total lack of responsibility in management’s response.

Incredibly convenient to restaurants, heart of Atlantic Beach, and shops. I also enjoyed the view of the marsh at sunset and the well decorated rooms. 10/10 recommended

The Sand Dollar Motel is a small family owned motel.We are on the beach side with a short walk to the beach.Quiet and safe area. Mile and half to main intersection of Atlantic Beach. We have regular rooms with 1 or 2 double beds.All rooms have a small fridge and coffee maker. We also have apartments with full kitchens, separate bedroom. Great for families. We try our very best to make our guest comfortable and enjoy their stay with us. We have clean and affordable rooms with a family atmosphere. Sorry no pets!
Low Rent Motel but not low price

One of the top 3 worst places I've ever stayed
Reviewed By tarheels1216I had a wedding to attend and waited too late to book a hotel; this is all that was available. My expectations were really low going in, but unfortunately it ended up being even worse. Black mold in the shower, no hooks or bars to hang towels (?), sink plugged and not draining, shower did not work properly, and the place was super dingy and dated. Looks like it was built 50 years ago with zero upkeep or renovations. Owner clearly has no pride

Lovely choice of a hotel
Reviewed By Phyllis MWe chose this hotel due to the fact that they accept dogs and from the previous reviews. We were so happy with our choice. The lady we made the reservation arranged for an after hours check in and it went perfectly. The room was bright and clean and had small touches like bath soap and shampoo presented in a small cellophane package with a ribbon. The bed was super comfortable and we slept well. I had requested a room away from everyone as the previous night at a different hotel we were kept awake all night by loud talking. One suggestion I would make. The map given to us never showed the pet area and since there is no grass near the room, it was difficult to walk the dog. I did find the area after talking to the clerk the next morning.

A Place at the Beach III is managed by VRI (Vacation Resorts International) which is a management company based in California. A little information about the property: The resort has 279 units of which 98 are timeshare units and have recently been renovated. We have a putt putt course on site, ping pong, tennis,basketball, shuffle board, corn hole, lawn bowling, ladder golf, disk golf, new playground, private beach access,board walk to the beach, Indoor pool, Outdoor pool with a water slide. We have an outdoor hot tub and an indoor hot tub. During peak season we have an on-site store, pig picking, pizza night, taco night, and painting. On Site Security will ensure you have a safe and fun family vacation. We hope you visit our property and enjoy your stay with us!
Family friendly resort

It is an ocean front resort with an outdoor pool with a waterslid, an indoor pool, 2 hot tubs, a wonderful childrens' playground, free putt putt and tennis courts. the resort has an immaculate courtyard area. The units are older but well kept.
