Arkansas Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in Arkansas

April 18, 2023 Darleen Reid

Living up to its billing as “The Natural State”, the state is a nature wonderland with three national forests, nearly 9,000 miles of pristine streams and rivers, awe-inspiring settings in the Ozark and Quachita mountains and sparkling lakes. The menu of vacation experiences is an exciting one. For great golf, spas, horse racing and the Hot Springs National Park, Hot Springs is the place to go. Outdoor enthusiasts love the Ozark Mountains where activities like canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing are popular. The mountain village of Eureka Springs, with its streets lined with Victorian homes, is brimming with boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. Wine enthusiasts love the Arkansas Wine Country, encompassing the towns of Paris, Ozark and Altus, where German style wines are produced. From its ancient mountains to the Delta flatlands leveled by the Mississippi River, the state has a diverse topography with numerous scenic drives. Try the Pig Trail, Ozark Highlands and Sylamore scenic byways in the Ozark National Forest designated by the U.S. Forest Service. Golfers love the state because greens fees are extremely affordable for great courses. A few excellent public access courses are Sage Meadows in Jonesboro, Stonebridge Meadows in Fayetteville and the Mountain Ranch Course in Fairfield Bay.

The only place to stay in Eureka Springs

Super Awesome place to stay, the cabin was very! Clean and neat. The couple that owns the property is fantastic. I would have to say it is the best experience I have had at most places I have stayed. My wife and I stayed there for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was very relaxing and comfortable. The full kitchen and laundry is really nice. There were fresh cut flowers and chocolates with a sign welcoming us and wishing us a happy anniversary. Just awesome!

Charming & Hospitable

We stayed in the Dogwood Suite. Food, hospitality and room were all wonderful. We are planning our next trip! Chris was a wonderful host and innkeeper. The front porch with rockers was a wonderful place to relax with homemade cookies! The Wildwood is very charming and all I expected of a B&B! With the location being on the square we parked our car when we arrived and walked everywhere! Loved it!

Wonderful place; perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Victoria B&B last month. It is delightfully charming and very comfortable. Our hosts were wonderful. Joana was so warm, gracious and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, especially those orange rolls. It’s also right on the periphery of Crystal Bridges art trails and walking distance to fine restaurants.

Good, but paper-thin walls

Reviewed By SarahJane0488

Stayed here for one night during a road trip. New building with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Just off the interstate - watch for potholes on the local road, but the parking lot appears newly-paved and there were no issues. Shower was good and no issues with the pressure or temperature. Only disappointment was the paper-thin walls. After we first checked in, I immediately went back down to the desk to ask for another room as the family next door was very loud (it was about 3:30pm) and had a baby. My husband and I knew we would need to be in bed early to sleep before another early morning. I asked to be away from other guests if at all possible (it was Easter Sunday and the parking lot was mostly empty). We were moved to a room on the other side of the elevators, in the shorter “wing.” No issues with the move, but a couple of hours later another family came in next to us, again with a baby. I wish I could blame our discomfort on particularly loud and obnoxious guests (the first neighbors were, the second were not). We could hear what appeared to be their reasonable-volume conversations clear as day; when they would get animated or when the baby would cry, they might as well be in our room with us. We turned on the fan for the under-window a/c unit to drown out the noise, but were nevertheless awoken several times during the night by louder conversation, items dropped or banged, or a child crying. If you are looking for quiet, I strongly suggest begging and pleading with the front desk to be booked in a corner room to minimize your chances of having a loud neighbor, since you will hear anything they do anyway.

Warm and relaxing

Reviewed By Lindsayladybug

I stayed in the north lawn carriage house for my last day in eureka springs on a trip for my birthday. I was greeted by John, who told me some history of the house and showed me around. Including the parlor and kitchen that are always available for guests to use. I loved the little carriage house. It was so charming and had a warm, relaxing feeling. I like the little details like the tiny Tiffany lamp and the local artwork. It was also nice having a ceiling fan in the room. I really like the deck overlooking the woods and the nice breakfast. It's close to everything but has a quiet feel as it is in a residential neighborhood. It only took me 10 minutes to walk up to the Crescent for a massage and dinner. It's also about a 10 minute walk from the train station. I especially like walking around the neighborhood as all the houses are so cute and everything smells amazing. Would highly recommend.

Nice room, check-in is chaos and that guy is super rude

Reviewed By Arar1313

The room was clean and nice, dealing with Steven was awful. Firstly, my room code was sent to a random phone number, and then finding parking passes had me talking to the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. If you only have 4 parking spaces and 10 rooms in your hotel, the math is simple, 6 people at random are going to need a parking pass for the overflow parking. If this to truly be contactless check-in, maybe just leave a pass in every room.

Could be really great

Reviewed By delia1953

Been wanting to stay here for a number of years. Rooms are scattered around the quaint downtown area in historical buildings. Advertising says area’s finest accommodations. Finally had a chance. I reserved 2 rooms for 2 couples directly booking with hotel so I paid $25 more than advertised price on Trip Advisor to ensure we had best rooms available in same building. I was told breakfast was included. Turns out one gets $10 credit toward breakfast but the restaurant was short staffed that morning (1 employee) & they closed service before half my party got served. There was no adjustment on room price. One of our rooms was ”upgraded” (@ hotel’s request) & that meant we ended up in a different buildings. It was a great location with a balcony big enough for a sizable party, but alas we weren’t there for a party & it rained. I had asked about beds as both men in my party have bad backs; manager assured me they were queen beds & the mattresses were essentially new & very good beds. I have slept on worse but definitely not anywhere near new. 1 of the 2 rooms was not very clean: floor dirty, stains on pillow shams & our friends said double bed, not queen. Outdoor areas could have been improved with a blower or broom to sweep trash away & real flowers other than artificial ones in flower boxes. Steep staircases up to both rooms so if stairs are an issue, this is not the place for you. There was a coffee maker in room but no creamer. No real ice machine (none in building I was in & no ice trays in the refrigerator). However, Housekeeping staff was very nice to get me ice. If you stay here be certain you understand the check in process as we arrived during office hours (9-5) but the only person around was housekeeping. Bless her heart; she did an exceptional job getting us settled. Same next morning at checkout; only person around was housekeeping. I’m not sure anyone is really Interested in keeping this place going. Too bad, as it could be really cool.

we got locked in our bedroom and the owner was super rude and unkind

Reviewed By hvnlystarz

we were here last week. we had many issues- moldy shower curtains, uncomfortable bed that collapses in the middle and gave me back issues, nothing in the kitchen so you have to bring everything (no spices, no olive oil- i have never been to a b&b that has full kitchen that does not have basics in there for you). our oven did not work- we put in on broil and after an hour it was not hot at all. but the most important thing that made me take the time to write a review- we got locked in our bedroom- which made it so i could not access the bathroom in the middle of the night. it took me several minutes (4-5 minutes?) at 2/3am to jiggle the doorknob and push with all my might to finally get out of the bedroom. it was super anxiety producing- as i was going to have to go out the back yard, climb the fence and come in the front door to use the bathroom- while leaving my sleeping child in the bed. i shared this along with several other issues and the lady (susan/susie) just said oh thank you for letting us know we will fix that. there were several issues to fix that we paid $300 (tax included) to be able to inform her of. i told her i am a business owner and when someone has a very bad experience that is not their fault- i make amends of some kind and give a credit or partial refund. she then went onto say 'oh this is where it's going... so you locked yourself in the bedroom and you want money back'. SERIOUSLY_ I AM NOT KIDDING. i almost fell off my chair WOW. if you go on yelp you see many 1 star reviews with people having the same kind of rude experience. it appears the good reviews are people who have no complaints. but if you have any issues- that are not your fault- be fully prepared to be blamed for them (yes i go about locking myself in rooms all the time) and be prepared for her to get dr jekly/ms hyde on you she is sugary sweet until you have a problem and then she takes on another personality entirely. it is super clear that money is what matters to her- she wants your money and if you have a great experience wonderful but if you have several issues that are errors on their end (things not fixed/replaced/working) - she cares more about her money than she cares about customer service, integrity or honesty

Memorable Holiday

Reviewed By SMooreUS

My two teenagers and I stayed in the Longfellow Room for 3 evenings during the Christmas holiday break, We enjoyed our time and hope to return. Rebecca and David are thoughtful, experienced hosts, and their house is gorgeous and convenient to downtown. We all enjoyed learning about the house's history, woodwork and stain glass windows. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet, and we liked the ability to stream movies at night. It was convenient to have a sink in the room with a separate, private shower and toilet. When you read reviews about tasty breakfasts, you can believe them. When I had an unexpected flat tire, David helped me locate a repair shop. I also appreciated their advice on things to do. We wish Rebecca and David all the best.
