We had the first sunny day in weeks so enjoyed patio dining. Delicious food, excellent service, and terrific dark beer. Loved it all! Lots of choices so everyone in your family will be happy. As it was our first day in Alaska I hesitated buying gifts for family at home and am so sorry I did. Soft, cozy shirts, sweatshirts, mugs... don't wait!

The Good: This is a beautiful place. We sat out on the deck on a beautiful day and ordered lunch. Food was very good and the view of Denali was spectacular. The Bad: Our waiter was very friendly at first, but when I and my friend asked for a straw for our water things went south. We received a short lecture on" why in the world do we think we need a straw". He said he would get us one, but never came back. I realize this is a current movement traveling through certain restaurants, but we prefer not to drink out of the glass. ( Start with plastic bags and water bottles and leave the straws alone). After his short lecture, he did not come to our table again. He waited on everyone else and totally ignored us. After a half hour of being finished with lunch, my husband had to chase him down for the check.

There are many unique and fantastic restaurants in talkeetna, The Bistro however, is not one of those restaurants. Where do I begin? A rude hobbit of a manager who blows customers off, an unenthusiastic and sluggish wait staff, the chefs are alright I guess, except, well.. I wouldnât be surprised if they somehow had an allergy to salt. Overall if you have to get your seafood fix in talkeetna, Iâd recommend that you spend the extra dollar and head down to Wildflower Cafe.

Had a rez and nice large ceasar salad with nice slices/flakes of parmesan, veryshareable,and a cup of seafood. filling and decent supper. otherwise restaurant is very exensive and seafoood is not fresh per the chef. Turkey sandwich on croissant from snack bar near resturant was quite good.

Ice cream pales in comparison to others we have had here in Alaska. If you need ice cream in Talkeetna, I recommend that you visit another Talkeetna ice cream store instead. It had better quality products (we tasted side by side at Wake and Shake), the service was friend.ier, the prices better AND the server didnât ask us to leave a tip. Tacky!

We had seafood chowder, caraboo chili and fish and chips made with halibut. The batter for the fish was delicious (crunchy) and the chips were amazing. They were batter dipped, as well and really crunchy. Everything was served really hot. perfect. This is a low key, casual place but don't let that deter you.

Loved it here, great breakfasts, reasonably priced, local atmosphere, in a wooden lodge. Lots of interesting pictures on the walls and local info. Service friendly and prompt. Highly recommended and right next to Denali Fireside lodges so very convenient.

Our group of 8 found this place when in this little town to view Denali. One of our best meals in Alaska. Pizzas, sandwiches, soup was wonderful. Everyone was pleased and service was friendly.

We had a great supper here, the food was superb, the fish fresh and delicious, the steak excellent and good quality, the service excellent, all sat outside on the terrace. A good wine list and a highly recommended restaurant.

We ordered beer (local and Alaskan Ale) and curly fries and ate outside on the deck. Both the beer and fries were excellent. A lot of fries served and we couldn't finish them. Service was prompt. The server was very cordial and pleasant. Overall, a good experience in the town of Talkeetna.
