The island (originally named "Massacre Island") was renamed for Louis XIV of France's great-grandson and heir, the dauphin, the future Louis XV of France. Typical coastal seafood in an informal setting. The Po-Boy was good with plenty of shrimp. However, two things that detracted from my rating. One, it's overpriced for what you get. $16 for a Po-Boy with fries is about 30% more than what it would cost up the road in Mobile. Second, they have a policy of charging a 4% surcharge for using a credit card. This is printed in small type on the back of the menu and the waitress only informed us when she brought the check. This an unacceptable way to do business. They also charge extra for take-out. This used to be a decent place to eat lunch on the way to or from the beach. I hear it's under new ownership. Nickel and diming people is not the way to endear yourself to your customers. I'll never again set foot in this place.

Such a step up from the previous location. Absolutely stunning view and the remodel is quite nice. Menu looks a little different but canât remember exactly what was on the last one. We had the flounder ponchartraine and it was very nice. Topped with shrimp. Side salad as expected but the vegetable of the day was a delicious combo of broccoli, asparagus and tomatoes. Also had a burger and buffalo chicken. Both were good. Excellent servicetoday as well.

Brought the family in after busy dinner hours. Looks like a family operation and appreciated the down home atmosphere. Food options good. Good prices. Presentation needs improving for table service restaurant, but you shouldn't be looking down at the table anyways. You're on the water! Take in the view and grab a drink afterwards!

Loved this place. The menu changes daily. I love surprises. The entertainment was great. We ate outside, listen to a local band, and had a drink. We watched children dance to the music. It was relaxing. If you go to Dauphin Island, don't miss this restaurant.

We walked in and waited by a sign that said "wait to be seated." After maybe 5 minutes someone came to seat us. On the way she tells us it is a 15 minute wait for our order to go to the kitchen. We thought it would be ok and sat down. A lady took our drink order. After 5 minutes she hadnt returned. We noticed that no table around us had food and we decided to leave.

I enjoyed the selection of tropical drink choices while watching the sunset and with all the windows, that was easy. I had the shrimp po-boy and truly enjoyed it , but the gumbo was great! The only negative was the many many steps to enter, ensuring that only the more agile and young could go.

1st time on Dauphin Island for a family get-together, 4 generations represented..... liked the funky old country club building, great views. We had mahi mahi, blue crab, shrimp..... all good. The only person in our party that complained about the food was the granddaughter that ordered chicken tenders, said they were dry. Almost forgot, the baked beans were fantastic, too! Service was a little slow, but I'll take that over bad food any day. Would definitely go back.
